Cool piece worth mentioning - the M1911 that Soap hands to Price after saying "this belongs to you, sir" is the 1911 that Price originally slid to Soap on the bridge at the end of the events of Call of Duty 4. Soap has been hanging on to this weapon the whole time. Also, up until that point, Soap is known only to the player (Roach) as Capt. MacTavish. It is only after they break Price out that Soap is referred to as Soap once again. That's why the teammate with you says "who the hell is Soap?"
I love how the DS campaigns actually tie in to the timeline. I honestly always thought those were separate timelines
I feel so bad for the kids today that are growing up with MW 2019 and MW2 2022. They have no idea how amazing the original MW and MW2 were. I remember being 13 seeing the trailer for MW2 showing the AC130 and thinking it was the coolest thing ever. Plus we had Halo 3, Left 4 Dead, Dead Space, Borderlands. If you were cool you had an Xbox 360.
One extra detail about Ghost and Roach's deaths is that, Shepherd only injured Roach with the gunshot since it was somewhere below the chest, while killing Ghost with a headshot. That means Roach was conscious the whole time, and thus he was burnt alive, that's why during that whole sequence you still keep some control over the camera.
COD:MW2 was always my favorite, but the entire trilogy is just amazing, glad to see you re-doing this timeline again.
Imagine joining the special forces and given the codename “Roach” 💀
Sandman, Truck, Grinch and Frost need to have a comeback in the reboot universe of Modern Warfare, they’re to cool to be left out
Price is impressed by Soap's performance Also Price: "That was an improvement, but it's not hard to improve on garbage."
This video is very impressive. It's almost like you, yourself, wrote the script to this beloved COD trilogy! I've played all the COD campaigns throughout the years, but this trilogy, was the reason why I became an avid COD player and fan. I hoped they (Infinity Ward) would have continue this storyline. I'm so glad I came across this video. It's been years since I had followed the storyline of these classic CODs. Very well executed!
Jesus, Ghost's lore is a lot more deeper than I thought
Man the original is so great. I did hate how Frost magically disappeared at the end of 3
I like how the story is straightforward and somewhat understandable but then it just takes a hard fucking left and now we’re fighting martians with laser guns on titan
when I was playing the campaigns as a kid I didn't even know the series was this deep, especially from mw-mw3 everything aligned up and just makes perfect sense now
Wow, I didn’t even know these DS games existed. I was so confused for a minute before I realized what was going on. This is super thorough. Great video
I know everyone knows the Modern Warfare trilogy for the multiplayer, but the story is easily one of the best in any modern fps game. Edit: along with Doom and Halo, MW is one of those “The single player is incredible but the multiplayer is almost better.”
In MW1 they had 'the Four Horsemen'. It wouldn't be till MW3 till you found out that Makarov is the 4th Horsemen. And only if you connect the fact that the '4th Horsemen' achievement for when the nuke goes off in MW1 linking with Makarov being present when the nuke goes off.
COD4 was my first game in the series back in 2008 when I was 8 years old, I was only playing the campaign story and it was THE best modern military shooter I saw so far, everything looked "Extremely" realistic (back then), the missions where hard and fun to play, and the ending was So Perfect! I later got the chance to play MW2 and MW3, the original trilogy is what made me love COD in the first place and still to this day, " Modern Warfare " IS " Call of Duty " for me... I kept waiting for a sequel for 8 years and MW2019 finally happened but with the cost of having a short singleplayer campaign, the one thing I wanted. I can never say enough about COD4, MW2, MW3, but if I have to add 2 things, I played EVERY Single Mission of each title for more than a 100+ time over the past 14 years, not to mention the times and times I times I put into Spec Ops (MW2&3) and Survival. I have some fears for MW II but I want to believe that early campaign access means something, something like a longer campaign, and hopefully this year's Spec Ops won't be forgot mid-way and be better.
Crazy storyline, absolutely love it!, you are so underrated and i apreciate such long videos to just turn off from the reality and enjoy
Playing the new series of MW has been wholesome, because when I was younger I experienced the pain of losing all of my (virtual) brothers through the original trilogy
