@notme222

I admire the way she phrased that. Because I remember being a young boy and doing lots of activities, some of which were "girl" things. (Like ballet, or some crafting workshop.) And everyone's young and innocent, but most girls would go "What's a boy doing here?"

Which is not to excuse or downplay older people making inappropriate comments to Anna. But she's right. It's being different that stands out.

@Gotejjeken

Ya'll 80 IQs in comments missing the PDFs texting her after the game when she 'wasn't 18 yet', that's pretty messed up

@Alton7771

The comment section is just a blast there should be no reason why underage girl should begin inappropriate text. I was just curious how that even allowed.

@Watchman-vv5xx

Anna is just in a different league intellectually and depth

@DhruveelDave

She isn't wrong here. Attention can be of different types, and not always, it's in a positive sense.

@paulhowes5094

My mom was a great advocate for girls to learn chess. She'd be overjoyed to see you young ladies
She was at 1 time considered by many to be one of the top 10 strongest woman players by rating she was in the top 25. She actually became the first woman to be President of the Massachusetts Chess Association. She was best known as a tournament director. Her tourneys had cash prizes and were very popular. You still got a trophy of course lol

@james2mify

Opponent: I couldn't stop looking at you
Ana: my chess speaks for itself

@Knight81234

This was an absurdly accurate explanation of how it feels like to be a minority.

@wolfsettgast4945

She shouldn't complain, she is privileged.

@Breakthrough.Blueprint

Isn't that a problem everyone has? I am a social worker, male, 6'2 and 200lbs of muscle. 95% of my co workers are female. I got comments from all over the place that I could be dangerous or a threat for the people I work with (mostly children). Guess what? My appearance didn't do sh*t to the children and they loved me after a year of constant playing and interacting. Even tho I look like a prisoner, doesn't mean I throw a child at the wall yk?!

People are yapping, let them yap

@ninaallasia

This is so true. I got all excited to meet some random people from an app to play chess in a public place (a mall center). But when I got there, all the guys looked up, and I quickly realized I was the only woman. I felt so awkward that I just left. I didn’t even know what to thinkI just felt like a juicy piece of ribeye being sized up. It was uncomfortable and off-putting.

I’m still waiting for the day when there’s an all-women chess group or just more women in chess overall. I feel the same way at the golf course sometimes, but at least there, I can just focus on my game without being too close to my opponents

@thyblackpanther

If u good than u good if u not stop complaining

@WhisperingWempe

Creepers everywhere Anna 😢

@Falcon-mc5fs

It's tough being beautiful in a sea of men that launch you to success beyond the masters in 1/10th the time.

@danbeast123

No one should have to feel this way for wanting to play a game.

@onesolopolo4194

All the men in this comment section who are lashing out after watching the video are hilarious.

If this video upsets you it’s because you feel like they’re talking about you. You’re the creep who would message a minor if given the chance — so for you, this is a video of two women calling you out.

Just say you like kids so we can put you on a list.

@slobiden.2593

I actually had this exact convo today with my coworkers. If you work retail, you can find people’s social media with simply their first name, the town/city and business they work at, it’s insane. One girl got messaged on her Facebook by a customer while she was working and we had to call the police she was that afraid and I don’t blame her. Poor girl is busy at work and someone who’s a complete stranger to her is messaging her on social media while being within 30 feet. I’d get scared too.

There needs to be proper discussions with how men can and shouldn’t approach women. I’m a guy, it’s confusing as hell and from my point of view, the last thing i would want to do is ask a girl out and for it to traumatise her.

A cool idea would be to wear rings on their ring finger. It’s the only thing I’ve used as a guy to never try to flirt with a married woman. If she has a ring on, then it’s a strict no no on the approaching.

@Steritasty

This commentsection is disgusting

@timothyojukwu9718

Comment section is nasty

@ansmerek

Bobby Fisher was a minority when he took on the entire soviet union on his own
