I remember getting detention in middle school P.E for screeching “I wanna run through your wicked garden” loud enough to drown out an important P.A announcement. Worth it.
The concert portion of this video was filmed in downtown San Diego. STP was going to film the video & then do a free show afterwards. My friend & I were in line for the show & we got pulled out of the line & invited inside for the filming. They performed the song several times in a row to make the video. It was awesome! I like to remind my kids that their mom was a hottie in her 20’s! :)
STP is by far one of the Greatest rock bands to ever exist. Listen to all their songs and how can you not be a fan.
Nobody has the lyrics up so I’ll put them up Can you see like a child? Can you see what I want? I wanna run through your wicked garden Heard that's the place to find you 'Cause I'm alive, so alive now I know the darkness blinds you Can you see without eyes? Can you speak without lies? I wanna drink from your naked fountain I can drown your sorrows I'm gonna burn, burn you to life now Out of the chains that bind you Can you see just like a child? Can you see just what I want? Can I bring you back to life? Are you still alive? Burn, burn, burn, burn, burn Burn your wicked garden down Burn, burn, burn, burn, burn Burn your wicked garden to the ground, yeah Can you feel pain inside? Can you love? Can you cry? I wanna run through your wicked garden Heard that's the place to find you 'Cause I'm alive, so alive now I know the darkness blinds you Can you see just like a child? Can you see just what I want? Can I bring you back to life? Are you still alive? Burn, burn, burn, burn, burn Burn your wicked garden down Burn, burn, burn, burn, burn Burn your wicked garden to the ground, yeah Phenomenal song
I remember meeting somebody at a dance class. Her name was Alyssa, and she was really into Rock music and dance. As I had the same interests, we became friends. I introduced her to STP, and she absolutely adored them. After awhile of dancing and listening to STP, she said to me "You know, we should really create a dance for Wicked Garden. Mainly the chorus." I liked the idea, thinking that making choreography for Hard Rock was original. So together we made a one of the hardest chores I've ever done. We were 10 back then. I'm 13 now, and I still do the dance we made whenever I hear this song. Alyssa isn't dead, I just wanted to tell the story. Love you Lys 💙
RIP Scott Weiland (October 27, 1967 – December 3, 2015), age 48 You will be remembered as a legend
I absolutely love the mix on 'Core' its really grungy and gritty but also really melodic at the same time, its one of the best sounding records ever imo
ICONS FOREVER ♾️
The chorus to this song is one of the best heavy rock / alternative choruses of the era.
Wicked Garden. Wicked band. Wicked album. Wicked singer.
A legend laid to rest. No more demons. You will be remembered and loved.
The basslines on the entire record are masterpieces. Everytime a best-bassist choice comes up, it is costumary that judges should look into Jazz. And Robert DeLeo remains underrated
This song is still so fucking fire after more than 3 decades. Still one of my favourite '90s bands in the Alt-Rock era.
Amazing vocals from Scott (obviously) and guitar from Dean Deleo but no one mentions how amazing the drummer Eric Kretz is. Simply fantastic drumming throughout STP's career.
Scott Weilands voice is like a bandaid to my soul...my heart will always be in the 90s and I will forever miss these talents we lost!!
Nothing makes me happier than a healthy Scott singing his ass off and THE DANCING! #TheDance
The best band of all time. Cant stop humming their songs
As rock was fizzling out ....These guys were kicking its ass.
I remember seeing these guys open for Megadeth to support this release. The people that were there were not paying a whole lot attention to them... damn, if they only knew. I did get to see them 1 more time years later in a small venue... was one of the best shows I've ever been to.
