I’ve actually noticed a few elements from Rise that Capcom have integrated into Wilds. 1) The Seikret is obviously an evolution of the Palamute to provide faster traversal around the map. The only difference is that the Seikret can now jump around obstacles players can’t normal move around as well as having the ability to glide. 2) The follower system returns in Wilds and has been improved. Unlike Sunbreak when you had to choose solo mode to use followers, they will automatically join quests in Wilds if players don’t respond to your SOS flare in a certain amount of time. 3) Wilds is focusing on a more diverse roster of monster types. Unlike World where we only got wyverns and dragons (with the exception of Rajang and the collaboration monsters), Rise had over four leviathans, introduced a new amphibian and spider monster, and brought back a couple of crabs. 4) The wound mechanic is essentially an evolved form of the weak spots that afflicted monsters would have in Sunbreak. While Wilds is definitely going to be more of a sequel to World, I’m really happy Capcom has looked back on Rise and built upon what was established in that game. Especially for me as Rise was my first Monster Hunter game.

Having a run where you have to setup every camp you can, and finish the game while making sure not a SINGLE ONE gets destroyed sounds like a chaotic fun idea, lol

Where they go from here is easy: more. Add more monsters, locals, weapons etc. They've perfected the gameplay loop, now they can just give us more of it. They don't need to reinvent the wheel. In fact, Rise was lacking, a bit, to me, because of the rampage mode that everyone forgets even exists.
