@willmach

Giving a portion of your winnings to the other competitors is so gangster

@LegoSnipe

If someone borrows my shoes and runs 544 miles in them I’d be pissed

@the_DarkSoul

Imagine finishing a race, go home. Have 7 hours of sleep, wake up and 2nd place is still yet to finish.😅

@Olympia_Apothecary

Class act sharing the winnings, you don’t see that anymore.

@helixator3975

I Was in high school when this happened and Cliff’s farm was nearby, so these was a lot of excitement around town as he took the lead.

Cliff left school in his early teens to help take care of the farm. It was in the middle of the Great Depression and they couldn’t afford a horse so he grew up chasing a couple of thousand sheep around, and pretty soon he found we could quite literally run all day ..land the days can be 15 hours long down here

He was a kind man who couldn’t bear killing his animals, so ate a vegetarian diet for decades, and to fuel all that running they reckon he used to start each day with quarter bucket of rolled oats which he soaked in milk and water overnight.

Old Cliffy was tough as nails, and after the first day of the big race, he ran the rest without sleeping at all. An amazing effort from a unique character and a true original.

@venturingfinance9171

That's hard af..
He's definitely carrying the boats 🤣
