Hate is hate. Speech is speech. "Hate speech" is shorthand & plucks emotions as a means of manipulation. We MUST get back to articulating our meaning, and think rather than react to triggers. The ability to listen & seek understanding is how we move forward. Shortcuts have gotten us here 🥵 Neither life nor humanity are as simple as a slogan, device, or headline. Forgiveness & humility aren't outdated!

It's not just in this field or that field: there is a systemic sickness in academic and intelligence life in general. Preposterous false things are believed, and based on foundations that are never challenged. Social Sciences is hit hardest with the Replication crisis. It seems most people have Gell-Man amnesia. “The student must be treated based on his or her experiences as an individual — not on the basis of race. Many universities have for too long done just the opposite. And in doing so, they have concluded, wrongly, that the touchstone of an individual’s identity is not challenges bested, skills built, or lessons learned but the color of their skin. Our constitutional history does not tolerate that choice." -The Supreme Court Justice affirmative action ruling.

"Political extremism" is misleading...overreach-extremism committed by "leaders" affects more Americans than conversations we're free to have. Censorship is subjective, and increasing. Who draws the line?
