Everyone appears to overlook the fact that Hanzo was a Yakuza Assassin for the Inagawa-Kai family. Seeing someone like him face off against a super predator is pretty damn cool.
“Why would you try to kill me?” Topher Grace: “I like being bad, it makes me happy.”
Fun Fact: Cuchillo means knife in Spanish, which means that Danny Trejo plays another character named after a blade.
So we just gonna ignore how badass that yakuza guy is? Dude went 1v1 sword fight with a predator
"He lost his minigun, but I hope he still has a sandvich." I love this James.
Nikolai is pretty memorable, he saved Price and Soap after they... wait wrong franchise
“Written and directed by Shane Black… treat the series with love” aged wonderfully, he introduced two new predators to the franchise… one which was on screen and one which was behind the scenes
"Shane black. So you know he'll treat the series with love." At this moment james decided to never try telling the future ever again. Edit: yes, yes, I know. Shane black has made some good stuff. You can all leave me be now
Boss: so we need to make another sequal to Predator Employee: what about PredatorS? Boss: genius
Can I just say, I love this concept. Abduct a bunch of combat experienced people, drop them in a jungle environment with guns all over place (ala battle royal), and hunt them down like a pack of wolves. The people given their combat history they, will instinctively try to defend themselves. Not only will this make it a challenge for the Predators but it also means the humans won't trust each other so easily. This gives the Predators a slight advantage.
I loved this movie! Never understood why it got so much hate. It may not have been as iconic as the original but it was still a great movie in the series. I would rank this move behind the original. It has a great tone and atmospher, a very dark and creepy vibe to it, which is perfect for the Predator movies. I love when they focus on the survival/horror elements.
One word defines this movie : UNDERRATED
9:46 while I agree it’s pretty convenient that the predators opened a door for the cast, it would make sense that the predators would want a more honorable challenge rather than watching all their prey suffocate in a cage
Aw, you skipped the scene where Hanzo explains his silence by holding up his hand, revealing missing fingers? "I talk too much." That's straight Yakuza shit.
According to Nimród Antal and Robert Rodriguez on the commentary, in the script, the character Cuchillo was described as "a guy who looks like Danny Trejo." When Danny Trejo heard this, he called Robert Rodriguez and said, "hey, I heard there's a guy in the script for 'Predators' who looks just like Danny Trejo, and guess what, I look just like Danny Trejo!"
Adrien Brody was surprisingly PERFECT for his character. Him and Nikolai were my favorite characters.
Dude, I’m surprised that only 1 guy died due to parachute malfunction, especially if they woke up to falling, cause if I was there I would be hella in shock and just be fslling
I actually really liked this movie. 1. Adds to the Yautja lore by introducing a planetary game reserve they drop their prey into. 2. The Predator v Yakuza sword fight, one of the most badass ways to go out in any Predator film. 3. Solid action sequences throughout. 4. A Predator v Predator fist fight. 5. I thought the twist with Edwin as a serial killer was a good one, and explains why someone as unassuming as him wound up in the preserve.
there were several hints that the doctor was actually crazy, the first being that he was there on the planet to begin with, second was immediately leaving the russian guy behind right after being rescued by him and then using the picture of his kids as his own. it was not that hard to pick up on the fact that guy was not all right in the head imo.
