Here comes the Gladen Mosconi partnership. Mark stepping up his game
In about 2-3 years I really want to start my own audio business in Poland and these types of videos are really helping me so thank you. You and crutchfield are like gods to me!
finally a subwoofer other than JL!
interesting stuff about the max power of sub vs actual output
Could you make a video about free air subwoofers? Some people have sedan cars and don't really want to waste space on subwoofer boxes. I appreciate your work, man.
6:14 was the first tone the one that was 1db louder?
Both going into a ported skar AR2C8V dual 8" armor coated enclosure , in the back of a full sized sedan. 7th gen maxima.
Thank you and good morning from Denver
Rockford Fosgate R2-500X1Prime Series mono subwoofer amplifier — 500 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms And the Rockford Fosgate Prime R2-2X10Sealed enclosure with two 10" Prime R2D2 subwoofers Will be a perfect match for the best bass
Just in time for my build. 👍🏽
My general rule is to pick a amp that does sub rms rating plus 25%. The 25% compensates for impedance rise. That’s minimum. Right now I’m running 6k rms each sub that’s rated at 4500.
Agreed it's best to get an amp that has 50% - 100% more power so you don't need to run the amp at full power. Also, the best way to run the signal to an amplifier is with an LOC. Brands like Kicker, Recoil, Audiocontrol, and JL Audio not only boost the signal, but filter the signal so there is no distortion. Other brands can and do distort the signal. Not all LOC's are the same. By using a quality LOC your amp doesn't work so hard and runs cooler, plus you get better sound quality. Best money to spend on your system. The best amplifier is the 1 you can afford. As we all wish we had JL Audio in our cars. lol (Though CSS makes an impressive sub 4 the price. As does Savard. Gladen are very good too, just a bit pricey. Germans make good stuff).
If you have a 500 watt rms sub it's good to get a 1000 watt amp because you will always be running clean power to it . If you get a 500 watt amp it might not be clean without clipping
Great video mark i have been watching your videos for sometime now and i would say you have helped me make some great choices keep up the good work
some basic info needed is what I just learned. A dual voice coil sub could be 2 ohms or 4 ohms. If it is a single speaker, then the 2 ohm sub can only be wired for 1 or 4 ohms. If it is a pair of 2 ohm subs, it has to be wired at either 2 or .5 ohms. A pair of 4 ohm dvc subs is basically opposite. This is critical info needed to know to match an amp.
so for a 2ohm 500w rms/800 peak sub, an amp between that range would be fine (ex. 700w amp) ?
Hello. I love your video and I know this is kind a late but do I need to run or upgrade my vehicle wirings? I currently running with 4gauge OFC Power wire and Ground along wit JL Audio RD 1000/1 at 1000 watts (rms) @2ohm load with one 12” subwoofer 1000 watts (rms) @2ohm load. And maybe running a two subwoofer with total 1200 watts (rms) @2ohm load in the future? And I know I will not go more that this Wattages.
hi watched another video of yours, im now 54 and love car hifi just love the power of a system i guess, but i have to thankyou, always wondered how they get the contours so perfect in the boot of a car and thanks to you now i know, so so simple will be 3d printing them,my other problem i have i have a rockford fosgate prime 1200 great small amp but have got a new sub inphase x 10 2ohm dual voice coil says rms 350 - 400 peak 1200 should i run this at 2 ohm or 4 ohm? any advice would be appreciated
Can't tell you how much your videos have helped me throughout my different projects. Always super happy to see one of your videos pop up when I search for advice for something car audio related. You're having a big impact on the scene and we lesser experienced folks can be really glad to have you. Thank you for helping us out. 🫶🏽
