Man, I'm enjoying this video immensely. I'm a huge fisherman, so seeing you finally getting back into it just warms my heart.

@RijderSchäfeir

Didn’t grow up with a father figure and the way I got into fishing was working on a crab boat for a couple years, incorporating asmr into fishing is so much more relaxing than I thought it would be, thank you for showing us your realistic adventure in the annoyance of fishing

@thehunterian

We are so back

@chrisd6736

Fishing and ASMR go together like peanut butter and jelly.

@bh5081

Some of my favorite memories are days spent fishing where I didn’t even catch a cold. I truly believe being outside and enjoying things like fishing heals parts of you that you didn’t even know were broken. Tight lines broski.

@Aaron-rq4cs

Hey Paul, I have some tips for ya. Don’t worry too much about “is that a nibble or is that the bait hitting the bottom” if you watch videos of fly fisherman fishing under an indicator, practically as soon as the bobber moves down even slightly, they set the hook. “Hook sets are free” and I’d be willing to bet that at least one of those times you thought you were hitting the bottom, there was actually a fishing biting it.

edit any time you are trout fishing and you are saying “we are definitely getting a nibble” you should be reeling your slack in and setting the hook. I am sure, now more than ever that had you been more aggressive, you would have caught some fish.

@RussB2404

Excellent casting for someone who hasn't fished in 40 yrs. You're doing well adjusting depth, moving, and trying different lures. A creek can be difficult just starting out, but you'll get better at recognizing the difference between a bite and hitting bottom.

Whenever you see it dip, give it a little yank to set that hook. Also for a creek like this its beneficial to have smaller bobbers. The smaller they are, the less likely to spook the fish when hitting the surface.

I am so happy to finally see this video. So many cherished memories of camping, fishing, being down by the river, anything outdoors. It's a lovely way to slow down from normal busy life.

@Mrw1274

These fishing videos are very enjoyable

@MrCheesypickles

Also more importantly than changing lures is constantly adjusting the depth of your lure below the bobber and the weight. This all depends on the pool/riffle you are fishing. It can be a lot of trial and error in the beginning.

@drolan1977

I’m in the process of doing the same thing…I grew up hunting and fishing as a kid and did so until I was about 18…Flash forward to now and I’ve been hunting for about the last 8 years but started back fishing about a month ago at the age of 47…So much has changed over the years but I feel the excitement of fishing and finding new spots around my house and on my way home from work…Really enjoy your videos of getting back into fishing as well…Best of luck to you as well…

@ragee-r2542

I have never gone for fishing in my life but after watching this i surely hope i do one day because the peace, the quiet and the atmosphere are pure bliss for someone like me who lives in a big city. Thank you for piking my interest in one of the things i never thought i would like doing uncle E!

@BG_fishing88

@LiamGrant-q5y

I love fishing, so this video is literally for me

@matedruml

25:25 Most perfect water droplet sound

@crysiscore2051

This is the content I want from YouTube. Thank you ER!

@Woofdeath13

For mono if you have alot of line on the reel pay attention when you start reeling in. The line likes to jump off the spool and loosen in the spool itself. Thats what caused alot of the tangles in the start of the video, even if you spool it correctly mono tends to do that unless you leave alot of space on the spool. It is also a self correcting problem, because as you cut more knots it creates more space on the spool and the problem happens less.

@aadendolan3048

You should look into the mystery tackle boxes. Great money deal. Comes with a bunch of different stuff and would make great for a “asmr unboxing fishing video”

@ohiocatfishing1238

This is an Untapped niche for the asmr world, which could produce a whole new watch base of people. Lots of content options with fishing as well, all kinds of different fish and styles to target for different audiences!

@walton1261

Loved this, super relaxing and its also nice to see someone picking up/resuming a hobby and enjoying the experience of learning.
