i think better to focus on keeping the sternum, down and pointed behind ball on the downswing, let the momentum carry the sternum over and through the ball, I think focusing on the follow through can cause you to get in position prematurely.
IMO this gets you offbalance when you have to stand still. I angle my lead foot a TINY bit inwards and my right foot angled slightly outwards. This gets me to automatically shift my weight and gets my hips out of the way for the swing. A safecard when things need a "reset" on the course. :) Hope it helpes.
