You might also consider mixing the shotgun audio with the lab audio. I find highly directional lav mic audio to be a bit too artificial when paired up with a scene where the subject is speaking at a distance. Not enough environment audio. You should do a video on using this technique!
nice review, you deserve more subs with this content!
I’m listening to the difference through a decent set of headphones and to my ears, the built-in mic has a boosted low end and is definitely not as detailed in the vocals range as the lapel. Also, I can hear the resonance of the DJI mic enclosure, which imparts a cheap boxy quality to the audio from the built-in mic. Definitely an improvement with the Shure MVL. I wonder if the internal mic and the external mic jack go through the same preamp and ADC, I sense a bit of signal conditioning on the internal mic, whereas the external mic seems not to be taking a more direct route to the ADC.
Nice review. Thanks
Has anyone ever noticed that because the mic on this lav is on the side and not the top that it’s most susceptible to clothing rustle?
great in-depth review
Both very interested in the mic and a good friend :) thank you for the great review!
Great vid, sir
Out of curiosity, why would you use an external lavalier mic (MVL) with the DJI system? Also, I’m looking for a lavalier mic for speeches. Does this one pickup shirt movement, heavy Ps, Bs, and heavy breathing? Do you recommend this for speeches given to large audiences?
Subscriber 134 here. Lol. Looking to use the same setup for the DJI MIC and SHURE MVL MIC.
The Shure sounds better.
Nice jokes ))))
The audio in this entire video is awful and crackling. 😳
