I recently read Clara Schumann's published diaries. It reads like a epic movie script! Incredible composer and scholar who regular met with Brahms (who fell in love with her) and Mendelssohn to study and discuss Bach's music, etc.

This is such a beautiful rendition-- Clara Schumann was such an excellent composer. I did a project recently on women composers, and some of those I especially enjoyed listening to where Barbara Strozzi, Francesca Caccini and Elisabeth Jacquet de la Guerre (all Baroque composers), and the Classical period composer Maddalena Laura Sirmen, as well as other Romantic composers such as Louise Farrenc, Fanny Mendelssohn (she truly was a genius)-- you may have heard this piece before, but Amanda Rontgen-Maier's violin concerto is very beautiful and I highly recommend it! --Lily :)
