love this album too as expected... but Historian is still definitely her best album.
I thought that hat in the thumbnail was his hair line š
Not actually feeling this album. I'm a Dacus fan, and based on her first three albums I'll try this one some more, but sonically it's kinda bland to me. Yeah, lyrics are intense, but something in the musical presentation has to better support that. Otherwise, just print a poetry book, yo. I'll try it a few more times, but this one is just not hitting for me at all.
knew it was gonna be a 7/10 before i even clicked on the video
the close on lost time was sooooo strong!!!
If this album was called "Forever is a Feeling" you would've given it a 7/10
we're ready for the 9/10 deafheaven review.
I love Lucy. Looking forward to seeing her on tour this year!
for keeps and limerence are great gut punches i don't need but 10/10.
"I remember you was conflicted Misusing your influence Sometimes I did the same Abusing your power, full of resentment Resentment that turned into a deep depression You Found Yourself screaming in the hotel room You didn't wanna self-destruct The evils & freakiness of Lucy Dacus was all around you So I went to you running for answers, to have an opinion on this record, but you gave it a 7. But maybe if it was named To Pimp A Feeling Forever, you wouldve gave it a 10.
crazy that lost time isnt in fav tracks but whatever. lucy still my goat
Good review, Melon. My personal score is an 8/10, but I can fully admit I'm an absolute mark for Lucy Dacus
Two hours in and the comments are more idiotic than ever
The way he ranked the best track from the album worst š
Listened to the new album for 3 times and I can say it's her least impressive. Acoustic tracks are not so memorable and sound the same (look at the collab with Hozier, it's boring). Also there are the good tracks at it's core like Modigliani. but when you expect some risks or emotions of the Lucy's previous records it's staying safe. The highlights are the Talk (probably the best track on the album), Most Wanted Man (it's enjoyable and Julien Baker doing a pretty good job at the guitar's playing) and Lost Time (final part of the track is amazing). I hope it's not the attempt to breakthrough on the mainstream territory for Lucy and she will comeback with the songs that will have emotions and bite to it
I just know that the upcoming NAV review is going to be another one of his April Fools joke review lmao (update: HE ACTUALLY DID IT YASSSSS)
Nice to know not the only one stalking the melon for the Deafheaven review
