Man, $10,000 isn’t small money, but it’s a lot less than I expected. I totally want a house with land to do this now.
As a guy with 40 acres, and his own shooting range, congratulations on your new spot. It's always cool to see someone else building their dreams.
I thumbs upped when you said, "Please don't vote for what you left." Thanks. Dig the vid as well.
That is a huge and professional shooting range! 5 years ago I did the same, sold my house in the city and move to the country. Bought a nice little house with a few acres of land, and build my own shooting range. It is not as elaborated as yours but it gets the job done and is nice to be able to shoot out of my back porch and hit steel 150 yards away! Happy shooting! You have a new subscriber!
After 20 years, I am finally getting an assignment to a free state. I have already told my wife that I need land so I can finally make my own range. Not gonna lie, this was more expensive than I thought but then again, there are aspects in this video I wasnt considering. Now the hardest part... finding someone that actually knows how to do it.
I wanted a range all my life. I would join deer leases not to deer hunt, but because I could go shoot in the woods the rest of the year when deer weren't in season. Then I bought cheap trash land in middle TN that nobody wanted. They only saw huge canyons that couldnt be farmed. I saw each canyon as a shooting range with built in 30 to 50 ft high side and backstops. No build up costs. I feel blessed to have that land that nobody else wanted or had the vision to see its potential
I’ve had an over 200acre range for about 25 years now, it started with a very small bay and has grown and has over a million dollars of work in it at this point. We see 600-1000 shooters a week and I’m so happy to be in the position i am, it’s an insane amount of work and time to do it.
Congratulations on your new range. The money you’d save on all the shooting range memberships and traveling is a lot more than 10K. Plus, your kids will get a lot more range time to learn and practice. This is on my wishlist too but I have a long way to go. Thank you for sharing the details of the potential issues and the costs associated with it.
Looks good, has to be an awesome feeling to walk outside and shoot whenever you please. I think the money is well worth it, when you consider the cost and aggravation of driving to a range.
I'm 16, and I am building a range on our 180 acre property. This video is right on time!
I used to be a heavy machine operator, wish I would of set my range up better when I had free access to an excavator. I own a skid steer, just have to get my hands on a backhoe or excavator. I can install the drain pipes, dig and grade myself. Thanks for the video Baer and enjoy your new range!
Ive heard garand thumb recommend you guys for years but ive never seen a class close enough to me that i could afford to go. Im really happy to have found your youtube channel. Congrats on the range
That is a nice range! Around me, the minimum lot is five acres, and all the neighbors shoot. Just push a berm up with a tractor and call it good. I Ieave mine sorry of weedy, because that's what I'll be shooting in. My neighbor flattened his out, so I walk over there when we are being more civilized. Thanks for the video. Nice to see how a real one goes up.
Hell yes to all of this I’m currybuild my range on my 13 acres and I’m fortunate enough to have equipment I’ve acquired over the years after fixing them or working trade deals for repairs but I also have a 200 yd 500 and 900 yd setup and a pistol range about the size you have now, I love the country life and being away from others congrats sir you especially highly deserve it 🙌🙌🙌
"it's a private range y'all ain't comin' " my response ...mane damn lol. Good for y'all sir✊🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Thank you for sharing all this information. I’m a veteran and a machinist that builds firearms and all the people I know and have done work for couldn’t answer questions that you answered. You just made this undertaking so much easier now. Oh and your final numbers as a whole was like a lot less than I was thinking in my head. Have fun!
Lived in Clarksville for about a year, born and raised in Nashville, TN. Loved Clarksville because of the views and calmness of being in a rural area. I was right outside of the city limits. Wish I would've met you while I was there..who doesn't want a friend like this guy???!!
I have old strip pits i use for my range. Natural high barriers cleaned the brush out and got the drainage right so it doesnt stay wet. Works fantastic
My brother and I just started building a range on some land we have. Got the dirt work and berms done yesterday. Good stuff.
