Disagree completely. The demand over the next 20 years according to BLS across all industries of software is 25% which is quadruple the national average if not more. Just because big tech cut due to Covid doesn’t mean we are going to see salaries drop.
i dont mind being hired as a software engineer for $50,000 annual salary. I just need a job. Also $100k+ for entry level is just dumb on the companies part. If entry level and just overall software salaries are going to drastically decrease then the hiring and interview process needs to be easier as well. Its too damn difficult trying to get a job because employers make the interview and hiring process so challenging now a days.
What is the general requirement for a current entry level role?
