People usually fail to understand just how early the Rolling Stones were.
This song came out in the 60's! Can you imagine how it felt to hear a song like this in a decade when people were still listening to Elvis?

@SalMiniYo

The first 7 seconds of this song are so haunting and immediately draw you into the song. Brian Jones was a genius instrumentalist. In 50 years people will still be listening to The Rolling Stones and appreciating their genius.

@PianoManChuck

It isn't until you pay attention to the lyrics that you realize that this song is about mourning the sudden loss of your loved one, which makes your entire world go black.
Brilliant song and lyrics!
Long live the Stones!

@Romanian-n1p

My Dad was a Lurp in Vietnam. This song makes me think of him 💯. He passed in 07 from Agent Orange. He took me and my brothers fishing everyday!

@garydunham1606

As a former house painter, this tune haunted me every time the home owner requested that the front door be painted black.

@aliholgate9442

My dad died yesterday, aged 92....he introduced me to The Stones and so many more but I know this was his favourite. Here's to you dad...R.I.P

@ProtoMario

When I was in college I had to do an essay explaining this song, it's pretty cool.

@NatBear-dp5sz

Since my husband suddenly and unexpectedly passed away 4 years ago .. this has been my shit ! “I look inside myself
And see my heart is black” 🖤 🖤
“It’s not easy facing up when your whole world is black “ 🖤

My heart & my world has turned black 💔😭

@autismo1969

Can't believe this song is 55 years old😯 the music is still so refreshing

@ronansilva5148

Rolling Stones is possibly one of the most timeless bands. This song sounds like it could have come out anytime since the 60s

@mahirorigami

Timeless.

@ClassicRockMusic-t2b

One of the most hauntingly beautiful songs ever written — raw, emotional, and unforgettable. 🖤🎶

@lenny.k7335

I remember playing this very loud on a school trip with another guy I never spoke to who sat next to me in the bus. He told me he could hear it, so I said sorry and turned the volume down. Then he immediately said: "Woah, I didn't say to turn it down! Got any more of that shit?"
Still Best friend to this day

@jameskang486

Rolling Stones: sees literally a red door

Rolling Stones: Ah, yes, can’t wait to make a record-breaking song about this red door

@mlb29628

I'm in my mid 60's ....I remember when this song came out on AM Radio :-)

@zanderthebeast517

This song is what defines The Rolling Stones globally!!! Whenever i see a red door in public, i feel like splashing it with Black paint, everytime. The drums are crazy on this song, 2nd best stones song ever!

RIP Charlie Watts. A truly Rock And Roll gentleman. Forever will be missed.

@robertbooden1921

Rip Charlie watts :(. Absolute legend. He’s the backbone of the band and this song

@ultimxtely5167

This song is full of the exaggerated swagger of a painted black door

@DukeDoggo

I remember the day I found out this song is older than it seemed. Still mind-blown. This song was ahead of its time— and I mean WAY ahead of its time.
