This scene with the Don should have not been deleted. It shows how much Michael wanted nothing to do with his father’s business. But eventually, he showed his love for his father by giving up his life for his father and family.

@aazamansari9313

All Vito wanted for Michael was to become Senator or Governor. And all Michael wanted was to do anything other than the family business. But sadly fate's verdict was in favour of neither of them

@wheres_bears1378

Coppola needs to share these scenes with us that he carries around in his pocket like so many Nickles and dimes, he must allow us to draw water from the well

@Gabriel_Martinez751

I think Vito respected Michael the most of all his sons because he thought for himself and always stayed composed.

@vasilishimself9806

We were robbed of those scenes!

@bingoboppins9875

“You never come to me as a son should, you know that?”

All fathers understand this line.

@jacobot500

Your nation, your father, honor, your family - Michael was always going to take the helm, one way or the other.

@samuelzins5089

Greatest character arc in cinema built by the greatest character in cinema. Could watch these clips every day

One of the Best movies in the history ❤❤

@TGGent92

Michael was the only son that never went to his father for help. He always did things his way. In many ways Vito admired Michael for that, his self-ambition, devotion for others and of course serving others. Vito I'm sure was well aware of Michael's capabilities. In The godfather part II Michael's meeting with senator Geary brought to light the very thing that Vito planned for Michael. Being a politician, Senator, Governor. Even Tom Hagen who was instructed to ensure Micahel's plans saw the upheaval. In many ways what Vito wanted was not necessarily the right career and position for Michael to uphold in the family. Michael may have not picked the easiest path, or the right one, but like Vito before him, he did everything for family.

@joelamthach5812

Won’t be another Godfather like this one!!!! My heart throbs whenever this movie plays out again!!!i I grew up protecting my children as if I lived it up in this movie!!!

@Southern_Crusader

The idea of sacrificing one’s self for the greater whole is what made every great empire, while the selfishness of looking out for only one’s blood regardless of acts is what keeps men in the mud with the dogs.

@ipponyc

This scene also relates to GodFather III with Micheal's son, Anthony, actually following through and not following his path.

@ricoa9661

Perfect movie. That’s all that needs to be said. PERFECT MOVIE
