See this is the kind of reaction I always expected from buzzfeed employees and when the Why I Left Buzzfeed videos started taking over the internet I was disheartened. It was sad to see that people who seemed to be having so much fun went through so much. I do realize that so many people have all kinds of different situations that occur and everything that people talk about are honest, both the good and bad. Anyway I just really like that you spoke out about why you haven’t left Buzzfeed. You’re showing people that there are two different sides to Buzzfeed and it’s important for people to know. Good work Aria.

Nothing wrong with choosing a path where you have steady salary and benefits! Honestly, I haven’t been watching much Buzzfeed videos, unlike before, except those from you, Merle, Rie, Andrew, Steven and Inga. I felt like Buzzfeed’s era declined when The Try Guys and Ladylike team left. But yea, nothing wrong with security most especially when a company gives you the resources. You keep doing you, Aria and keep producing those content! 😄 You have a new sub from the Philippines!

I’m glad you’re doing well, mate, major respect. I know everyone has different experiences when it comes to a workplace, especially such a large one, and I just pray that people like you, talented folks who just wanna make the content they care about, and needing that financial security and safety net, are able to have that, and do the things you wanna do, including in the future. I just really appreciate your transparency, cause it can be easy to feel like you have to lie, say “oh it’s terrible, I just have no choice”, or “oh it’s great, why would I leave”, just to keep up a certain appearance, or go with a certain side. I just hope that with all those leaving, and as more content creators like you are brought in, that Buzzfeed will try and become a better company to work for, for everyone.
