I remember being in the Army and hearing about how Air Force personnel got paid a “substandard living compensation” whenever they had to live on one of our bases.

I know this is true because the Air Force calls their barracks "dormitories'.

The DFAC food was this nice if you could execute drill movements well enough to get to the dessert fridge. Fair warning though, you should expect sleep deprivation and MTIs saying some form of "frick" in an angry tone most of the time. You'll also have to memorize safety policies, chain of command, rank insignias, Air Force song and creed, TCCC (week 4 or 5 I think), and a bunch of other stuff.

Basic tips:
-Use the bed frame to stretch your shirts in order to roll them tightly or use 2 locker drawers to keep the fabric straightened out well enough to keep the rolled shirt's shape while your wingman holds the shirt down for you (unless you can hold it down yourself).
-Use a clipboard to tuck in your bed sheets and dust cover to keep all the wrinkles out
-You don't really need to do hospital corners on the first sheet, just every piece of fabric afterwards.
-Depending on how your MTIs structure things, you can finish breakfast quickly in order to go upstairs and practice your dust cover bed.
-Purchase a lint roller the first chance you get
-Try to get yourself on a waiver to wear lightweight boots (they'll cost you about 200 dollars though)
-Train for the PT test before going to BMT by aiming to do 60 push ups and sit ups under a minute each and run 1.5 miles in 15 minutes or less. (Train your quads too because you'll be going up and down stairs A LOT)
-Don't show off how fit you are, the MTIs will notice and find other ways to make things difficult for you.
-Use mesh bags or a fleece cap to dust off the mirrors if you are on Latrine crew.
-Dust from top to bottom to center aisle so that way someone can come through with a broom and pick up all the dust in one go.
-Take EC night shifts if you want to lower your chances of getting chewed out by MTIs (as long as you're ok with losing an hour or two of sleep).
-On EC, do not let in your MTI through the front door without proper ID EVEN IF YOU RECOGNIZE THEM. (You may or may not get an excellence 341 for following proper procedure)
-You will have little papers called 341s, and they are used to take note of either something wrong you did or something right you did. Depending on how bad you mess up, they can send you back a couple weeks in training. Make sure to always carry at least 3 on you. You're supposed to have a minimum of 2, but if they take one from you they can take another for not having the minimum.

Air Force BMT is real easy, just be physically and mentally fit before you go in and you'll make it no problem.
Nobody ordered a yappaccino, but this is useful information for anyone that is considering on going Air Force.

@Trapster

When shit goes down and we're actually at war. Airforce is the only force that will be doing most of the fighting.

I AM FROM AIR FORCE AND THIS IS 100 % ACCURATE. COME TO US, ITS HEAVEN ON EARTH HERE

@Jack-ip3nx

Don’t forget that the Air Force is technically the most badass cause, even though the marines are known for saving hostages and doing a bunch of shit like that those guys are made for accuracy. The Air Force is made for pure destruction. They’ve saved Marines in situations where it felt impossible for the Marines to win. The Air Force has done more than them, but really touched on because it’s not really famous for being super stealthy or famous.

@burgerbro4927

Yeah but pilots will technically be the ones with the most assist or kills whenever a war breaks out.
