Really digging the format of piquing interest in shorts and refer to a longer video to properly explain it 👍
Cement 8%, but then you see that the construction sector contributes around 40% of CO2.
Concrete absorbs CO2 as it cures. So much so that pre-fabricated concrete forms are sometimes rested in CO2 rich atmospheres so the forms will be stronger when sold. Is this included in the 1 : 0.9 concrete to CO2 ratio, or is just the production considered?
Cement also sweats, and the water from it is poisonous. Always finish your basement.
Where's the video below?
we need more co2 in the air, lets end this ice age once and for all
Adding baking soda to cement can actually reduce CO2 emissions
Don't we have carbon eating cement now though?
Samanta is responsible ... what?
SecondEarth: Calcium carbonate
Where's the video below? Thumbnail link doesnt work
Ah yes , just 8% of our emissions for the material necessary for all of our buildings and most of our critical infrastructure.
We need to find limestone that breaks into lime and stone
Man, wood is looking like a better material every day. Frankly if they are gonna continue with carbon taxes, wood should have a negative carbon tax.
Meat is also has a much more impact then all the transportation into the world combined
I thought limestone breaks down into lime and stone
What about the remaining 86%?
I feel like it should be said that cement in the active binding agent in concrete and we use things like sand and gravel as additional material, but what is interesting is cement blocks are just as strong as concrete blocks, and concrete uses less cement. So we are already trying to make the cement go as far as possible.
Refuse to accept its more than taylor swift
