UV resin won't completely cure if the light can't penetrate it. The coloring in the axe head is probably causing the issue, and I'd suggest doing it in two thin layers.

@emilylogan2379

My Barbies would have been eating gourmet with the miniverse food options but more importantly they would have had the best weapons for battle with this collection 😂😂

@frankiemillcarek6976

Anyone using resin absolutely needs to wear gloves. Get a smaller size of glove, not the one-size-fits-all, so you can have full dexterity without your gloves wrinkling up while you're working. A box of gloves and respirator is way cheaper than medical care.

@StrawberriCleric

You're killin me man wear some gloves 😫

@mycomnithegreat434

Wear gloves, you can develop a resin allergy if you handle it with your bare hands, even with the more "harmless" uv resin!

@chiquitaf16

For the Axe, The glitter blocks the light from curing the resin. So I just poured the resin in as is then used my chrome paint marker to make it look like metal.
Thankfully they provide enough resin for several attempts.

@alyssae7517

Uncured resin is super toxic. Please don't touch it😭

@wendywitch4081

This is a tip that I had to learn the hard way, and that is to make two batches, one being transparent, and one having the color pigment, and you would basically make a transparent sandwich and you are curing each segment of the sandwich before placing the next one. so if you did your colored resin as your base and cure that then pour in the transparent, curing that. And lastly, a final layer of your pigmented resin, you will get a fully cured piece that you can file down without having it ooze. if your resin piece is still tacky, you can place it in water and then hit it with UV light or placing it in the sun for a day while turning it occasionally to get the same effect and it will be solid

@charlossen

for any parents planning in buying a miniverse kit containing resin for their kids or just anyone buying it in general, please do be careful! i’m so shocked there’s just straight up resin in a children’s toy, it can be very dangerous. resin can cause skin, eye, and respiratory irritation or sensitisation if inhaled, touched, or ingested. i personally don’t think it has any place in a children’s toy, as do some countries’ governing bodies which have agreed to have not all but some kits containing resin recalled. however, if you insist on getting one, please supervise your children and provide them with gloves if possible. try to be in a well ventilated room as well, if not outside entirely. educate them about these things, you’re better safe than sorry!

@tommyboyio1363

The new uv resin that Miniverse uses in their kits requires a 365nm uv light. The resin will not cure with anything else (aside from sun light). Even then it takes a lot longer to fully cure than you would except.

It's due to the changes they had to make for the product to comply with kid safety regulations.

@eviljbrian

The LOTR sets seem to be plagued with problems.
With the axes, it's ensuring that you use enough resin for the head, but not to much that you can't assemble them.
For most of the swords, it's making sure that it's fully cured before you remove the sword from the mold. The only one that doesn't have this problem is the Uruk-Hai sword, as it's a horizontal mold and easier to remove.
The Uruk-Hai sword had a different problem. First you have to make sure you guide the resin into the small area where the handle is, and then the trick to removing it without breaking the handle or any of the pointy bits.

With the UV light, I had my light positioned to shine upwards underneath the molds for about 30-60 minutes. After that I would hold it on the tip for about a minute before I can lay it on it's side without resin leaking out.
The light I'm using is a Darkbeam 395 and works great.

@Espeoniage

This is exactly what happened to me!! As someone who works with resin regularly, the lord of the rings series isn’t made very well

@Tatealatate

will be reallllllyy excited if you showing this collection 😊

@wandahastings8470

They say the new miniverse has to have a cooler uv resin temp than the old ones.

@daniellekimber4007

Yes! I got mine and got two swords! Sting and a elf blade. Swords are difficult and probably would take a while to cure. Glad you're doing this series though!

@meganleeuw

The one you made is legit the one I got so thank you for the heads up ❤

@saragracie6553

Saw one of these at target today and had to pick it up! I wasn’t interested in the Harry Potter ones but gimme some swords, daggers and axes and you got my attention lol

@justpoppy1119

I had the same issue with the double headed axe as well

@persephoneblack888

I'm old enough to remember the OG Youtube days. Those were weird times. So many quirky, fun, and wholesome things (for the most part haha). I miss it. Everything is just advertisements trying to sell me things. I'm not a fan of the multimillionaire "influencers" either. I'm glad you guys stayed true to yourselves! ❤

@littlevicvi

YEEEES YOU FINALLY BRING TO US
