As a leatherworker that has been obsessed with making armor based on bugs..... I want to make these! I can't sew or draw, but if some one wants to make the cloth portions I'll make the armor!!! Personally my favorite was actually the beetle. It just sang to me on something I'd be really excited to make. Your stuff is always so badass!

I can absolutely see a rivals to friends to lovers dynamic between Monarch and Mantis where it's like, snarky flirting and backhanded compliments from Mantis that slowly evolve into playful flirting and genine compliments and it's all fine and dandy until Monarch starts flirting back and it just evolves into "oh crap, I've actually fallen in love with her." Anyways, love the video as always. You're a huge inspiration to my art and I love your stuff!

They're rarely included in designs to make room for characters' faces, but including the extra headshots for the helmets was a fantastic idea. They all look terrific and help round out the full looks.

Dragonfly needs to have a Mosquito Villain/Rival that also uses a rapier with like a blood jewel kinda vibe! Very cool designs!

I would image this as a story where they are all kinda just thrust together into a group. Maybe monarch and dragonfly know each other already through mentoring but really don’t get along. I could see beetle helping monarch be softer on dragonfly and help show her that dragonfly has her own strengths. As for orchid I would imagine she is the one who plays it straight amongst the bickering but grows fond of everyone overtime.

French fact: In French, we call dragonflies "libellules" which is a very soft and cute name, and little dragonflies are called "demoiselles" which mean miss in a very polite way, so, for me, this bugs are cute, soft and dreamy, with a Luna lovegood vibeđź’™

I know you weren't impressed with the last character design, but honestly I think it was my fav which I was definitely not expecting!!! Beetle is beautiful, and I absolutely love the coloration on her armor— you were worried about it being too much but honestly, the gradients are amazing!!

Monarch reminds me of those characters in tv shows that are stoic but caring leader in plot relevant episodes and absolute goofball in filler episodes

The first thing that came to my mind when seeing the similar hair was that maybe its a symbol of rank. Maybe they have already been knighted, they have reached the end of their training. As that, maybe Monarch is there training the newbie Dragonfly, and Mantis is there to check to see if Beetle is ready to be promoted to an official knight. Either way, now I wanna draw bug knights as well, but have no time to do so. Maybe one day...

I love dragonflies they so adorbs to me and a pretty well-known fact is orchid praying mantis (the one on this video) look like that to disguise themselves as flowers to capture their prey easier

So here’s how I think the story would go, So dragon fly is the youngest and maybe she was found by monarch at a young age and was trained to be a knight. Maybe they are both knights for some butterfly royalty. So I feel like mantis would be from a different kingdom or something and she would be a like an escort for their representatives. Maybe she saves them from like a monster and they befriend each other later. Later on they meet beetle on a mission in a foreign nation. And like if they had a show or something it would be centered around dragonfly and like how she grows as a knight and makes connections
