Felt the same about vanishing world. Earthlings was disturbing but did what it did well. This one just didn’t feel that way even though the premise was interesting. And I agree about the ending.

I read Sky Daddy and actually really enjoyed it. I was surprised at there being some actual emotional depth to it honestly :)

I thought Blob was mostly okay, but I was shocked by how normal everything felt? I kept waiting for it to get super weird and wild and it just never did. However, I'm currently reading Sky Daddy and I'm having a great time so far

omg all of these were actually 4 star books for me! But i do completely agree, i think both blob and sky daddy are a bit mismarketed - sure they have the weird elements but those almost take the backseat of the story and focus more on the ‘coming of age’ of the protagonist. if you want a REAL bonkers book i loved paradise logic by sophie kemp! you might hate this one but it’s at least a fun ride haha
