@ChristinaMuscari

I just did a new paint comparison video using more Waverly Chalk Colors v. other premium brands you see me use on my channel. Check it out 👉 https://youtu.be/ZOY5Y9wAdic

@debrapoe1951

I use both Annie Slone and Waverly Chalk Paints. The Waverley holds up just as well as Annie Slone. For the money Waverly is my go to paint. Sorry Annie!

@zoeemiko8149

As someone who paints a lot of furniture and has used both the Annie Sloan & Waverly - plus their brushes.. Waverly brushes suck. Annie Sloan are really good however I've found the Dixie Bell brushes are far far superior to any others I've used. Waverly paint rocks. Seriously rocks. I love painting with it. One thing I would suggest though is when you add water to thin out the Waverly paint paint on the surface then spritz with some water. You'll have better control. Different Waverly chalk paint colors vary in how think they are. Waverly wax can be a little tricky to work with and not end up with brush marks. But once you get the technique down.. it's a wonderful wax! The finish is gorgeous and durable. I personally prefer to apply the Waverly wax with a cloth. Annie Sloan has some gorgeous colors I've not been able to recreate by mixing Waverly paints so there are times I break down and buy the expansive Annie Sloan paints. Not often anymore though. I'm not knocking Annie Sloan paints - they are wonderful! But they're very expensive paints. Dixie Bell is a good middle as far as price between the two and an absolutely excellent paint. All that said.. I bought a few synthetic brushes at my local home improvement center that are my absolute favorites.. bar none! I paid about $14 each for them. One last thing.. when using the Waverly antiquing wax.. don't mix it with the clear. It just turns everything muddy when you do and you don't get the antiquing definition.

I could see a large difference on the video for the comparison. Waverly did a much better job at coverage and vibrance. I use the antique wax paint full strength and it does awesome! You can even use it as a regular stain on bare wood! I don’t like the Waverly brushes, so I agree with you there. They are too stiff and the bristles fall out too much.

@therusticfarmco7642

Waverly covered fully in 2 coats and Annie Sloan still had areas that weren't fully covered after 2 coats.

@sandrakidwell450

I used the waverly in ink(black)on a boys bathroom sink cabinet 3 yrs ago and used the matte varnish over it...I have to say it has held up perfectly with 2 rough teenage boys. I love this chalk paint.

@j.bennette3390

I like your style - thorough without too much excess rambling. Well done!! 👍🏾

@KachaFurniture

Wow what a great video! Thanks so much for linking me. It feels a little crazy going from someone who watched you to calling you a friend! Really well put together video in the name of science! ❤️

@christina2801

Waverly paint is great. I'm so done with overpriced Annie Sloan paint it's nothing more then indoor outdoor latex paint with calcium carbonate added to it. Rustolem is good too

@ritat1

I've never used chalk paint so your video is very informative and helpful! I much prefer how the Waverly performed as you worked with it, and I find the Waverly side of the finished product far superior. Thank you for your clear and concise video - well done!

@ennoirt

Great video! I'd read/seen so much about Annie Sloan chalk paints, but there is no stockist anywhere close to me. Walmarts everywhere, though, so I plunged in and painted an antique desk with Waverly chalk paint in white, and used the clear wax. That was five months ago, it's beautiful, and it's holding up great! Your video is validation that my decision not to make an all-day trip to another state to spend a small fortune on Annie Sloan products was the right one :) Many thanks!

@libbykay4391

That’s so cool that you and Kaćha are friends, you two are my favorite furniture painters to watch

@samanthab3292

Love the Waverly!! It even covered better in just one coat 🙌🏻 definitely in my price range.

@jeanniemcguire8245

I love the Annie sloan for several reasons. Perhaps the most important is that I was raised in a family of wood workers who thought it sacrilege to paint anything. I love that with using Annie Sloan ( sanded lightly) paint you can still feel the grain of the wood and see the craftsmanship of the piece. Any latex or acrylic based paint will no do this. 2nd, I can paint 5-6 medium sized pieces, accent tables, chairs etc, or a whole large china cabinet or dining set with one can of Annie Sloan. It is so versatile and the palette is perfect for mixing and blending. When you do the math Waverley 8 ounce is $6 ( x-4 =$24) and Annie Sloan 32 ounce is $ 38. I do understand if you are only doing one small piece that the Waverley is cheaper, but the results are not that beautiful old world finish.

Hello Christina, first time watching you and became a subscriber as I appreciate and thank you for your honest comparison. Great Video!!! Waverly is affordable to most everyone and it is available at Walmart, which is almost everywhere! I look forward to your future videos and I will have fun going back through your past videos. Off to buy Waverly!!! Sending a smile :) from San Diego, Ca

@normawilliams260

Great information. I never could afford Annie Sloan, I’m retired and I’m not spending $40-50 plus on Annie Sloan paint.
But it has great reviews and is recommended by many.
But I wasn’t even aware of Waverly, and I can afford that and this is what I’m going to buy.
Thanks again for your reviews.

@deolindarhoads5381

love that you compared the two, thank you. all my interactions with Annie Sloan dealers have been snobby and stingy with tips unless you take their class. they were the first to come out with chalk paint but they don't have to gouch you. i bought my chalk paint at my friend's store and she sold american paint company. i finally started my dresser and i was a little disappointed because you can see the brush strokes, i should have watched your video first, because now i am excited to go crazy. thanks for all the great info.

@ChristinaMuscari

I've been wanting to make this video forever! It's a long one, but I wanted to give you as much info as possible on both paints. Which one do you want to try after watching?

@charlotted6247

I've always used the Waverly because I can't afford Annie Sloan. I love the coverage of Waverly and I use and live with pieces done in Waverly. I have no complaints and I love the variety of colors you can buy and you can buy different sizes. I appreciate seeing what you done because in the back of my mind I have wondered about Annie Sloan and now I know. Thanks so much

@gloriabelli303

Thank you for this show!!!! Is great to see somebody like you comparing other companies than Annie Sloan. I restore furniture now in Nicaragua, ALWAYS TRYING TO MAKE MY OWN PRODUCTS AS WELL..You just showed me I am not wrong to think is ok to make your own chalk paint. And buy unexpensive waxes ..now a varnish!!! Great!!! Love the tipi!
