The State is the Government. You meant control is going to State Governments instead of the Federal Government. I think there still needs to be federal standards and testing, with exemptions and supports issued for rural areas and homeschooling.

IEP's and other support plans are ultimately backed/protected by American Disabilities Act. That means the Health department defacto inherits these responsibilities of funding and program support for us Neurodivergents.

For those that this may help... I've been following this carefully as I have student loans in repayment. The idea of returning the Dept. of Ed. to the states, in short, is kinda like that Roe V Wade turnover with his last presidency... all this is doing is putting education back in the hands of the state and not the government. Just as he did with abortion rights. Those are now a state level right and not a federal level right. While that may be a "sensitive" topic for some, that example best mirrors this one, where control is shifted from Fed to State. Trump has no interest in cutting programs, just the waste. Stay tuned as I'm confident that Trump will do right by the people.
