I-40 essentially becomes a north-south route is it nears it's eastern terminus; just one little sign on the side of the road and poof, it's done. Eventually, it looks like the new western terminus will be at I-5 or CA 99 (old US 99) in Bakersfield, CA. There's still quite a bit of work to do on CA 58 before that happens.

Is this the same as https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3mJ5Gr_H0Jc from 3 years ago? It may be, but this is a good indication that you could do between Raleigh and Wilmington (either direction).

I do alot of drives up and down this stretch between Benson and Wilmington just to go out for a car ride for a while. But I don't drive all the way down to Wilmington and would exit off either in Faison, Warsaw, Magnolia, Wallace, or Burgaw and go back home.
