Just listen to your docs and don't overdo activities (it will be VERY tempting to "cheat" every so often). With your dedication, physical therapy will be a breeze and you'll be back to playing in no time. And if they tell you that you will never fully recover and be unable to do something, then you know your goal to strive for. As a fellow violinist, I had a shattered right shoulder. My first doctor told me I would never be able to play again. My right arm may now be 1/4" shorter than the left, but I'm still fully capable of playing (and do) in an orchestra. This will be just another chapter in your life to reflect on years down the road.
