That is a fair definition of deconstruction. Even further definition, re-examination of our beliefs. It examines why go to the Bible in the first place...without starting with the belief that the Bible is true.

Well I would define deconstruction as critically examining your core beliefs to see if they are actually true, and if they're not, then you have to abandon them and replace them with another belief. And this replacing old beliefs with new ones is called reconstruction.

PLEASE help me find a church locally that believes along the same lines. I have basically said if there are purple lights on the stage it’s an automatic no, sounds harsh but there just seems to be a consistent pattern of pandering?

It's the new end that justifies the means...just read the rules first. The brimstone is only cool when it is seen on stage by a "secular" artist but when it is from a bro/sis in Christ we get offended. SMH! Thank you for promoting the Word of the Lord, AKA doctrine, to be our true foundation of our faith and salvation. Love yall!

Sorry Alissa it isn't a postmodern anything. It is simply questioning whether your beliefs hold any water or not. And yes it is ridiculous to not deconstruct the Bible itself.
