Going to penalty kicks would be fantastic experience for Canada in preparation for 2026. But with Canada's set pieces being dismal, I wouldn't expect them to win a shoot out. But it would be great experience...

The interesting thing is that Ecuador could upset Argentina, especially if Messi is not at 100%. So could we see a Canada Ecuador SF? Maybe only about a 15% chance, but 15% is not negligible! Canada Colombia Copa America final - a repeat of the Gold Cup final back in the day😜

I think its a 45-55 match. Loss of Buchanan hurt a little: maybe I had Canada at 50-50 with Buchanan in the lineup. As for Marsch, let's wait and see what the trend becomes. I think any new manager would have produced an enthusiasm boost for a little while. The question is whether the enthusiasm is sustained and whether that translates into increasing success. My expectations is that Canada should reach the top 30 in the world and sustain that position through to 2026. If that's the team we have, we should be at least semi-finalists in the next NL and Gold Cup competitions. Winning this QF match against Venezuela would be a heck of a start, but provided they play well, that's good enough. I'm pleased with the defensive start we've got with Bombito and Cornelius, but the attack is poor and must improve ASAP.
