@foldupgames

Switched from Game Maker after having used it for years.
I also tried Unreal and Unity, but Godot is just so approachable. And lightweight!

@En0834

Godot is king!

@DudeWatIsThis

The problem with Godot is that it's just limited for serious development. Console ports are hard and expensive to do. Rendering capabilities are limited. And while the engine itself is lightweight, games aren't particularly performant.

It's mostly just "it's easier, but you can do less with it". I'd compare it favourably to GameMaker, but it can't hold a candle to Unity or Unreal.

@Prochaska97

just wanted to add that another (imo) great game was also made with Godot and that's Cassette Beasts. Great creature collector, but tbh the char sprites are a bit boring.
so if you want to make a creature collector like Pokemon, Nexomon or Coromon it's possible with the Godot engine.

@DuzklNew200

I work with godot i think is better than unity if u are a begginer just the nodes and the script so easy to learn and godot is free and is weight is 200mb and unity like 10gb godot is better but he left something

@FusionCraftDev

I like Godot but I feel more comfortable with unity so I will stay with unity

@eddieschulte5017

I would have stuck with Godot 100% if it still had visual scripting. I was disappointed when they discontinued Blueprints for the 4.0 version. I was not happy and reverted back to Unreal. No hat for Godot, much love but I think it needs to understand not everyone can comprehend code and I respect the shit out of anyone who can code even at basic level.

@ragerungames

Not everyone is switching. You can count yourself 1 by 1 and you’ll find most Unity developers out there. Then comes unreal and gooo. Devs
