Props to a younger enthusiast who gets it. More seat time vs power. Rare to see these days.
Love how you started the video off Marcus! That intro spoke volumes about the history of the legendary S2K F20C. Dylan swapped his F20C for a K24 because something happened to his F20, that's the only reason. I've seen some people swap for a K for that very same reason - they blew up the OG F20/22 engine somehow, find that a replacement is way too expensive and panic. Cheapest way to get the car back on the road? K20/24. That being said, there is no engine like the S2000 engine :medal-yellow-first-red:😍🤩
Thanks for reviewing the car Marcus! If anyone is interested in seeing the car on track they can find videos on my channel
15 years ago, I stroked my F20c with a K24 crank. It was awesome. 300hp 200ft of torque
This guy has the right idea.... Yes the F series has good reliability and is definitely special, but if you're going to the track a couple times a month + the threat of popping an expensive engine comes into your mind more and more.... I know because I tracked my ap1 about that much
A K24 block/K20 head should have been factory in the AP2, 250Hp with plenty of torque down below from the factory for a car that had a capable chassis.
It makes sense- it’s the natural swap for the S2000, at least when the original motor dies. Spend a couple-three grand on the K, like cams and ITBs, and you’d forget all about the stock motor.
I respect the fact that he didn’t go a different route and stayed with a Honda motor but for me idc when my f20c gives out I will buy another f20c motor even if it’s costly idc this motor was built by god himself it’s unique and sounds different then k series
I just want to say thank you for always giving us great videos. Watching from Asia✌️
Great intro on the s2000! I personally would keep a good f22, but if the motor is toast, then the k series engines are great!
I have a very similar setup in my s2. Its tits if you track your car. If it's just for the street or occasional track day, this swap isn't for you. There are new engine mount adapters out now to reduce the vibration as well as utilizing oem s2 mounts
The TSX/CL9 platform is so good. If you're on a budget and can only have one car, it's totally the move. (Must be manual ofc)
Awesome video. Got some tracking to do this year
Marcus the way you said “why?!” Had me 💀 💀
I want to do a K24 bottom end with a Type R head... with a 9k readline. It seems as though switching from an RX-7 to an S2000 is the natural progression.
This is a very cool build. Might be a good solution for keeping some of the older higher mileage cars on the road! 👍
Just curious, why isn't the correct temp thermostat installed? The correct thermostat will allow the radiator to do it's job correctly. Sweet S2000, i always liked these cars😎
I bored/sleeved the F20c. Besides getting disapointed with the builder, Inline pro. It transformed the car @ 230whp no bolt ons except air intake. Highly recommended just get a better builder.
F series is better if you can find one.
