Caspatyrus could be Kapisha, in modern day Afghanistan. Pactyic country could mean the country of the Pakthas (modern day Pakhtun). Traveling East from Kapisha and the Pakhtun country following the Kubha (Kabul) river you reach the Indus.
If anyone is interested there are a series of articles in the journal Boreas by Dmitry Panchenko laying out all the evidence in ancient sources that supports the theory that Scylax sailed down the Ganges. I found these articles both interesting and persuasive.
Cotton was also first time mentioned by herodetus i.e in india crops grows wool which is superior to sheep wool in beauty. He also mentions about ants that mine gold (myth obviously).

Could Caspatyrus/Caspapyrus country be some place near Kashmir or any other place derived from the Sanskrit root Kashyapa? Sounds like Kashyapapura in Sanskrit.
Jay bhai with another banger, wish we had the original Indica and scylax's work with us today.
There is actually growing consensus on the fact that persians (achaemenids) likely never ruled any parts of Inda directly like having a satrapy . There is really not enough evidence archealogically of achaemenid present east of kabul . Your opinion

Doesn't the "30th month" sailing time also favour the Ganges rather than the Indus? That implies at least two monsoon seasons. From the Indus back is one season. As Alexander found, there was little incentive to dawdle home from the mouth of the Indus. By contrast, there was a lot to delay one and investigate on the way back from the mouth of the Ganges. What does the "Periplus" say about sailing times? Has anyone looked for a "Caspatyrus" equivalent on the upper Ganges tributaries?
According to greek mythology I think that the first visit India was Dionysus and after him Hercules..!! In Greek mythology is mention that Dionysus was first and Alexander the Grate was inspire from him wanted to go there after Persia. Because of Dionysus story's learn from his teacher's. These story's was well known from all Greeks at that time. And then Hercules story's. These steps he follow.. Some think mythology is just fictions. But the same we've been told about Troy!. Some are fiction and others are true thousand of years back The story says Dionysus went there to bring civilization to the people eastern of Greece. Not to concur them but give them knowledge and a way of better living.
As always happens from your videos, learned something new! Keep these coming.
Whats going on , JSTOR links I'm putting are not being visible or getting removed here . Is this some sort of glitch.
Caspatyrus may be near caspian sea
Kayalpattinam is caspatyrus, pandiyan dynasty is pactyic country. Kayalpattinam also mentioned by marco polo and ibn battuta. And the river name is thamiraibarani/porunthal river. Site iron age date back to 3000BC, burial site "adichanalur" yeild 150 skeletons belongs to mongoloid, mediterraean , aboriginal, negroid and dravidian. With heavy sea faring dating 1500BC-700BC. Site usually ignored by ASI due to hindutva politics. In 2019 madurai high court ordered to release excavation report by ASI which they was hiding for 15 years and askes to hand over site to state archeology dept. Its really sad that south/tamil history always ignored by india.
Yeah it could be a possibility that he waged a naval expedition in ganga river but i don't think personally that the boundaries of achaemenid empire was stretched beyond indus because we have already know that various Mahajanpadas were there .( which was possibly hard to conquer even for persians ) plus i want to ask a question that if there was a book and even fewer abstracts of that book aren't present today then how could we possibly tell that there was an actual book written by scylax ????
make more intresting vedios man. Make on Chalukya-Chola/Tamilakam rivalry
