we don't worship everything as god, but we give them due respect. There is no sin for us, only things that take near or away from god. So if Satan is a symbolic representation of materialistic desire then yes, one can be diverted but this is true for anything. Just because there may be side benefits if the whole faith is demonic then are you not being hypocratic? Just by being a Christian (in name) anyone can get so many economic benefits, In fact, 60% of people join because of that. Now Sai Baba is someone I ( and most ) don't worship just respect. He is NOT a god or an avatar, he is a guru .His followers are just deitifing him . Nor am I an avid follower of his. Now this belief of all thing you don't know as Supernatural ( or preternatural - ps: as something bad) is the same thing that causes people to fear. In ancient times. if a person has some knowledge of herbs and comes to treat the sick, this sentiment causes the mass to fear her, and call her a witch and similar to what you said ( devil's concubine ). If that was the case then all doctors would be sinful witches as they tinker with god's creation . ie the human body.
