Thanks for giving it the time it needed to find the faults, it makes this a very useful review. I've been using some cheap, unbranded sensor bin for 10 years and it seems to do a little better than the Morphy Richards here, especially on its D batteries which last about a year. That said, the countdown on this looks like a good feature to let you know it's about to take a chomp at your hand as you scrape out a pan.

These chew through AA batteries like no tomorrow because its a constant mechanical motion that it power ie uses alot of juice.

Thanks for the warning!

Is this suitable for a family of five two adults and three kids. 60 litres is that the biggest size

@Kir80rx8

Looks fine to me. Seemed to work normal. It opened half because it clipped your hand. And it has a delay between opens. That is so it doesn't open again when you're walking away etc.
So it won't work normal when you are "playing" with it.

Feel free to try use it normally.

I just got the same bin. So I will definitely comment again if it starts playing up.

That's a pretty fancy bin and you got a huge discount using Groupon and Cash Back! I like that the lid automatically opens! #SnappedUp
