The financial company which holds my ira has been told by the regulators that too many of their clients are in risky investments. A lot have rolled over their ira into money market funds that holds us treasury bonds when biden became president's. Anyway. Nov 4th they are transferring our ira and doing a deposit sweep program where the money will be distributed into multiple banks so that they are fdi insured. The only other option is leave in money market that is not insured. This scares me to death. I'm 58. I have 40 percent of my money in a physical silver ira. The only thing I could do is have them send me my non ira cash which is now in my bank. My 6 month emergency fund. Many in this position and we are scared to death. My financial advisor is a friend and is aware how vulnerable the banks are. She said they amounts they put in each bank will be no more than 250 k so I'm fdic insured. Not that I have a whole lot more than that in reg ira.
