@TheKillerman3333

Technically, 100 commoners would be able to pull it off, after all remember that humans coordinate all the time.

@RushWheeler

The Giant Ape watching the remaining 98 Commoners use their reactions to hand a single spear across to each other: (it never stood a chance)

@ScarecrowSketch

Did the math! Taking averages for all rolls the humans make and this is with 0 crits. It would take the commoners 4 rounds to kill the giant ape! With very few casualties actually!

@JustAnotherPilgrim

Insert fireball joke

@NocturnalTyphlosion

finally, a use for the peasant railgun

@kleinebozebeer

If you take realistic human lack of coordination into account, then you should also add in the fact that the ape its instinct is to flee from overwhelming numbers

@Damini368

Not being able to get everyone to D&D night is a far cry from “if we don’t work together this gorilla is going to tear our faces off”

@parjai97

Fellas, gorillas were still hunted by small groups without firearms, we win

@normalchannel2185

Theres an ape stat block already, use that. Giant ape is like king kong

@danluna8840

1) bows
2) village chief
3) animal would prefer to live so , it would run.

@gabeD8366

COULD they, yes, would they is another matter entirely

@isaiahhope5560

That’s in DnD. Have we not seen mobs? The human hive mind can definitely pull itself together to kill one person

@gianmariopirretti

They could always do the peasant railgun

@johnrora7760

I did the one shot suggestion where 20 commoners fight against a Hill Giant using improvised weaponry or whatever they would have on hand.

I fully made a chart with 20 commoners with different racial bonuses and weapons for different roles they would have in the town, from the Blacksmith with his hammer, to the woodcutter and her axe, to the hunter and his crossbow, to the alter server and a candlestick. I gave a librarian the Arcane Initiative feat and Chill Touch, but the player just used her to evacuate half the town after the altar server got squashed.

And they won. I think it was only 4 players too. 3-4 deaths and 4 evacuations. The hunter put in good work with his light crossbow

@SevenSilentCins

Two words.
Peasant railgun

@YourXavier

I'm pretty sure that most people, once they see the gorilla murder two people in a few seconds, will run away, rather than fight.

@RadarLeon

100 commoners with shovels could do it, sure a few will die but thats a sacrifice were willing to make.

@thod-thod

Giant ape is over 20ft tall. This is king kong, not a gorilla

@nicocrestmere9688

I ran this scenario and the very first roll the ape crit the commoner sh!t
Sounds about right

@Mekabear1991

So... What you're saying is, before we fight the gorilla we need to have a strategy meeting so we aren't all uncoordinated. Gotcha, I love it when a plan comes together
