Luke 23;56 is no case for the Sabbath observance in the new covenant church. These followers of Jesus were in their minds still Jews under the law of the covenant of Moses. In regard to what is sin, Paul says, 'Whatever that does not proceed from faith, is sin', Roms 14:23. 1 John 3, is also no proof to observe the law (somos) given through Moses. 1 John 3 is referring the righteousness of God and the commandment to love oneanother. Brother, your indoctrination has blinded you in this matter.
