@OwlClovers

In siberian Tyumen there is the siberian cat alley monument.

Many Tyumen and Omsk cats traveled after the war to be delivered to post-siege Leningrad.
This city was under complete siege for avout three years. No food, so, no animals.
There was huge risk of rodents population spiking and it was the last thing hunger-recovering city needed, so...

Tyumen and Omsk gave cats and they saved the city.

@Arcadopocalypse

Murka is a female name.
And yea, this can be translated as "Little Purr" or, more closely, as "The Purrer"

@GandalfTheTsaagan

I want to believe that Morca simply got smarter/scared and fled when things got bad.

@Guderian218

We can't forget Unsinkable Sam. The cat who sirvived three warship's sinking, the first one being the famous Bismarck, than the HMS Cossack and the final was the HMS Ark Royal. After that, Sam retired and spent his last day in Gibraltar.

@fiorino4554

Not even cats were spared at stalingrad 😔

@KittTheKit

Its not Morka its Murka, its a common Russian cat name that actually does mean “purring” but in a way that it actually sound like a name

@marche800

These are some ballsy cats. Not a lot of animals would willing walk into an active battleground looking for food. Those russian cats are built different.

@brockmckelvey7327

My heart is broken for that corageous Soviet cat

@brigidawalker4238

Little purr the battle cat will never be forgotten

@AMacLeod426

"Are we the baddies?"😂

@MoonlightVenator

I love how shorts content is original despite beging related to channel series

@FaeriePrincex

I like to think morca wandered further that his normal range and found a family who scooped him up and took him home to be a loved housecat

@M.E.ANDHistory

I've heard of messenger pigeons, but messenger cats are quite unique.

Speaking of important felines: have you ever heard of the Hermitage cats?

@extrahistory

Which "Cool Cat in History" should we do next?

@NoName-hg6cc

"For the motherland tovarish....I mean, meow "

@VincentBlackdragon-c2z

There's a book I read when I was younger called blitzcat..was based on a true story about a cat trying to find it's way home thru the war

@luca_history

This Cat was actually the Stand User that killed Stroheim

@MercuryTheVexilliologyNerd

From Laika to Muorka, even the animals of the Soviet Union will live on through the ages!

@Oriclego

please keep this series going

@𠄬

“Are we the baddies” got me 😂😂
