@runerin2048

okay but Odysseus high-fiving himself after being left hanging is so cute

@samukajabateh1640

This was phenomenal. I like the scene with Odysseus looking at his reflection. He doesn't recognize himself. Like Athena said, he's changing from how she designed him so it was fun to see her become that reflection to take him into the mind state. I like how you replicated ancient Greek art. Again with Athena towering over him, its to remind us shes a goddess thus larger than life. Amazing

@Mr.Bobble-236

The lyrics to this implies that Athena sees Odysseus as less of a 'student' and more as her own property. Like, seriously, just listen to the opening, "I see you changing from how I designed you." "Have you forgotten your purpose, let me remind you." And honestly, that's a little bit terrifying...

@Catbug2626

Okay but the way that Odysseus is the first one to do the “warrior of the mi-i-i-i-i-ind thing at 2:49 and Athena instantly adopts it next time they say warriors of the mind, and then in my good bye athena uses the same tune at the end when she says this is my goodbye hits me in the most snsjjsndbdb place like they were so close

@yogabbagabbie_

It's insane how in a 3 mintue animation you can show the contrast from the carefree and hopeful, young Odysseus and then his older self already being more stiff and thoughtful. And I love how you showed how Athena changed too, even her being a goddess she seemed "happier" with young Odysseus., and almsot more friendly. I love your art and your portral of these characters!!

@bookishnewt8468

1:56 - That face
Like he's going "oh shit that worked"

@paulavillanuevabelart9761

The self-high five makes me feel like he took it as if Athena was going to eventually accept him as a friend and that's why he so calmly let it pass, poor kid
AND SUCH AN AMAZING ANIMATIC IT'S BEAUTIFUL!!!!

@miraculouslover240

OMG I just realised... She sings "well done, enlighten me what's your name" but I always thought she sang "well done, you lied to me, what's your name.... Please tell me I wasn't the only one hahaha

@tombouric

One very subtle detail I adore is the glance Athena and Odysseus share at "A magical boar only the best could kill". I love how Athena glances at Odysseus and gives him a look of like
"Wow, I wonder who I could be referring to when I say 'the best'."
And Odysseus gives her a slight smile back, sort of like
"Yeah, I was pretty good back then."
It's wonderful because its a subtle moment of teasing between two old friends, Athena trying to help build Odysseus back up by reminding him of his old glory, and finally it cements the overall theme of this song, the wonder and hope of Odysseus' early life under Athena's mentorship that's absent now.

@gigi2820

OMG ATHENA FLYING THROUGH THE TAPESTRY THAT'S SO CREATIVE

@Cocoecake

For new Odyssey enjoyers- the scar he got from the boar ends up identifying him as the King of Ithaca after 20 years of being presumed dead

@BlueGoblin1

Athena never really abandons him. She is the reason he eventually makes it home. It is unwise for Athena to be openly by his side when Posidon is on the war path. But she bides her time and waits. After all she is a warrior of the mind.

@marsinvirgo

Athena’s face being devoid of most detail, except eyes mouth and eyebrows, gives me the impression shes like a living statue, or that the form she presents to mortals isnt as important as her message/mission. If it was intentional than its a fantastic choice!

@tumblingartist

2:32 Love how in practically every animatic has Athena leaving Odysseus hanging on that high five (Also- Odysseus high fiving himself xD)

@Rowan_Shinrin

The part where she talking about the magic boar is really cool it kinda reminds me of that one scene from the prince of Egypt.

@sammypierce6079

2:02 i like to think that she obviously didn't fell for it, but just went along since he is so smart and cunning 😂😊

@Tigersight0

Knowing basically nothing about Epic, there's something I noticed after listening to this song a few times.

At first, Athena things the 'warrior of the mind' line on a single pitch. When Odysseus joins in, he turns it into a run while she keeps it simple. Then, Athena actually copies him and makes it a run to match him as they sing it together. And the last time in the song, she continues the same way, even when she isn't matching him anymore.

I don't know, it was just striking to me. Since she's the emotionless god, it felt like a subtle way of showing that she was learning more emotion from Odysseus.

@Plutoliketheplanet

THAT WATER SCENE?! The one right after aswell with the tapestries, this is incredible <3 that 'dont disappoint me' pose being a direct parallel to 'what a waste of effort spent' in my goodbye chef's kiss . I love how different your boar scene is compared to other animatics, were it's usually Odysseus's leading his friends vs him in this one still feeling unsure and young, like he actually needs a mentor.

@illuxtre

THE LEG!!!!! It's the first time I see someone draw this song and reference to the scar Odysseus has on his leg bc of the fight with the boar!! The fact you even extended that detail to his leg giving out on him while he was talking to Athena later!!! And the fact Athena has the story registered in tapestry!!! And also this depicts maybe my favorite dynamic between them, with Athena being just as cheeky as him!!!
It's really cool to see the improvement since you started to animate to this musical, the angles and composition here are so neat

@Eryn-bz5vd

Okay but at 0:56 when they're watching the beginning of the tapestry and remembering what started their journey together and for a moment they smile at each other. I'm crying
