@JazminGage

The whole idea of the “outfit repeating” language is so out there to me. Isn’t repeating an outfit just called wearing your clothes? Lol

@liamcollinson5695

A metal dress in a desert feels a little like a smooth brain idea

@KatePolaski

packing to go to a music festival that's already in the desert: well i GOTTA bring my cactus

@pltjess

Of all of the endless videos I've seen about Coachella, every single one has been about the fashion, campsites, and problems. Not a single one has been about the music.

@TressaTravels

“I’m going to add a tablecloth for some color” but it’s beige 😭😭😭

@accessiblechemistrycpp

I live in the desert and Coachella is the bane of our existence. A 1 hour commute home from work takes 6.5 hours due to Coachella traffic, and Golden Voice (the company putting it on) has no interest to invest in rail or buses from other cities to cut down on traffic. It at least used to bring in $ for local restaurants and shops, but now GV has also put a lot into making sure “guests” never have to leave the festival grounds so they can take in as much money as possible. Our emergency rooms and hospitals experience huge jumps due to festival goers, some of whom get heat related illnesses or become dehydrated, but ALSO overdoses and alcohol related problems (in other words, some of those visits are completely avoidable) which makes it harder for local people to get care. In other words, Coachella and Stagecoach takes and takes and takes from the desert community and at this point doesn’t really offer anything in return but headaches. I wish it would just relocate elsewhere but Golden Voice makes too much money for that to happen.

I know it sounds bad, but knowing how negatively Coachella impacts locals, when I see creators attending I just unsubscribe 99% of the time. 🤷‍♀️

@lifeotms

proud outfit repeater!!

@wrenmassey6876

Maybe i have sensory issues, but i cannot imagine how uncomfortable all of these outfits are to wear while walking around the desert with all of that sand or dancing along to the music. Or how hard it must be to apply sunscreen with some of these fits!
So much of it is cool for editorial fashion shoots (which i guess is what people use coachella for) but it doesnt seem practical to me

@aserynn

The metal dress is insane, woudnt the heat soaked up by the metal be literally burning your skin?

@skip4576

The hosts of the podcast ICYMI called Coachella “Comicon for brands” and that realization killed any lingering shreds of interest I had in attending one day 😂

@Miannemih

I remember when someone who called others an “outfit repeater!” Was called spoiled and out of touch? I cannot believe its just common for some people to think that way now.

@pro.fessionalcomplainer

I can't imagine how it smells to watch a live music among coachella crowds. Hot temperature with intricate clothings that don't seem to absorb sweat properly?

@ETrademarkk

I'm so glad you're talking about this. Raves and music festivals are full of people wearing outfits once just for pics instead of actually enjoying the music. It's all "look at me, make sure you get the best photo for my insta!!!". And then they "donate" them or just resell and rebuy and still overconsume. We can wear the cute fits multiple times!

@freelandfairy

I think a good alternative to think about is outfits for Ren Faire. This is a place where people can have fun with outfits that they wouldn’t wear on a daily basis, and a lot of people go every single year and multiple times every year. I know that a lot of people wear the same outfit or at least certain pieces every year. They cultivate the outfit over years. This is way more sustainable, but still fun.

@mysteriousangioletta

I went to Coachella for the first time this year and so many people asked “do you have your outfits picked out??” I was honestly super stressed about the whole thing but one thing I knew FOR SURE was I was not going to buy new clothes just for the festival. It turns out the clothes I already had worked great and fit the “vibe.” I’d honestly wear the same things again if I get to go back next year 🤷🏻‍♀️ I went to Coachella for the love of the music and as long as I could dance and sing along I didn’t really care what I wore

@heartquaked

How your channel has changed my way of thinking- I went to a pro bull riding event yesterday and so many girls were dressed in cute cowgirl themed outfits. I told my husband after that I really hope that’s how they dress normally and it wasn’t a “wear once & get rid of” kind of situation!! I never would have had my eye open to that kind of thing, before finding your channel.

@AnimeRaccoon6331

My daughter was floored when I said that jeans used to be the clothes of comfort and unless you only wore sweatpants if you were sick. I remember hearing plenty of dirty looks at people going on a plane and wearing sweatpants. She was absolutely shocked that they were considered slob clothes.

@medeakg

Back in the 90's when I did outdoor music festivals I learned really fast that cute stuff like dresses and sandals would not cut it for more than an hour at best. All the walking and dancing, the heat and lack of shade, and just the overall grimyness of being outdoors for hours on end with that many people, who tended to be impaired on something was hellish. Worst part is knowing if i had worn proper clothing I wouldn't have suffered as much 😂

@mirsch594

Thanks to your channel I've committed to wearing the same (thrifted!) wedding guest outfit to two separate weddings this year. Less hassle, less money and consumption

@madelainelouise7173

My friends and I are trading dresses in our closets for all the weddings we’re going to this summer!! It’s been super helpful to hear your reminders about single use outfits :) thank you for what you’re doing!
