Every Ubisoft executive that pushed for their own launcher and to delay launches on steam should be labeled as unhireable in the games industry.
Banking 20k jobs on one title is insanity. What a nightmare.
2 millions players? That number would be impressive if Ubisoft + didn't exist. How many people signed up for a month for access to the deluxe edition and didn't actually buy it? That makes it far less impressive.
players, not purchases
And their stocks barely rose. Also their 2 millions players may be accurate but does not reflect the actual sales. Because you can still play the game by subscribing to their ubisoft plus or whatever it is. That is only 18$ a month. Even if they had 10 million players, all playing via subscription. Thats only 180 millions gained, not even close to their budget on this game. I dont see people keeping their subs up past one month as well.
They claim millions of sales but have basically no players on Steam. Is everything on console?
Ubisoft deserves to go bankrupt if only for putting frickin anti-cheat on single player games and then balancing their bloatware in such a way where you'll be wishing for that paid XP/Currency cheat code.
"The teams have worked like never before..." Yes, they were 85% FIRST TIME GAME DEVS. They have never worked like that before. Literally.
So they forced the team to crunch the game at the last minute. You can't convince me working every day is a positive
Sorry, but i call bullshit on this take. 2Mill players are not 2Mill sales. 27% on steam, yet it only ammouts to almost 70k players? It should be at least 540k on Steam alone for 2Mill sales. Overwelming positive player reviews on a controlversial game means that only an specific type of people are buying it, the people that could not like it are ignoring it alltogether. Is not like they are giving it a chance, no, they are ignoring it.
The game is very average at best... they need to sell at least 7-8m copies to break even and everyone hates them. Theyre doomed
Not one review calling out the atrocious monetization. All bought
2 million players? Are these players in the room with us right now?
I'll stick to Ghost of Tsushima
On a complete tangent, I started my first playthrough of Ghost of Tshushima yesterday. 10 hours in and it's magnificent.
2 million players doesn't mean 2 million units sold
If Ubisoft loses hopefully we finally get people to stop doing dumb shit with their video games. We'll see. I don't think it'll do well. 2 million players =/= buyers
Why is Bellular trying SO hard to spin this as positive as the truth can possibly be twisted? Just say the truth and be skeptic about their claims as their claims, are skeptical. They provided zero proof of sales. Just state that.
It's copium. They have not sold that much. Ubislop is over...
