Human babies between newborn and about 3 years old are the most astounding and hysterical creatures on the planet. SO smart, and yet ... no life experience. The even better years are between 3 and 6 when they have language skills and can tell you what they think. Those years are even better, mostly.
When my son was about 3, he came out of his room, stood in front of me, growled and then charged me.
I just stopped him and asked what the problem was. Told him to use his words (he was speaking full sentences by then).
He backed up, growled, and charged me again. I knocked him back gently and told him I don't know what the problem is. Again, I asked him to use his words. I'll assume he didn't have words because he did this a third time.
I knocked him back on his diaper-padded butt and asked what his problem was, and then told him "I can do this all day".
He got up, went to his room, got into bed (because that's where he was headed before all of this started), kissed me good night, and went to sleep. I never knew what the issue was.
