Used to watch that hippopotamus guy for keyboard reviews but this girl is much better.
never knew i liked keyboard asmr so much. Thank you for your work! I am currently going down a rabbit hole on your channel figuring out what kind of keyboard i want lol
And for some weird reason, they sell RD75 under a different company name , PMO and the name Wave75. It's literally the "same" keyboard. Someone on reddit jokes about the company name, PMO is just flipped and reversed WOB lol. BUT, it uses different switch from HMX for the standard vers ,and Kaihua for the pro version. Also, the standard had pp plates and the pro version used the FR4 plate. Different switches but still uses the same pcb and case. And, it is 80$.... er??
Womier RD75 I believe is for the international market. PMO Wave75 is for the Chinese market, which is a sister brand of Wobkey who made Rainy75. I have this Wave75 (Kailh Snow switch), it sounds really good stock. Also from the videos I've seen, the switches used in the Wave75 sounds way better than RD75. Plus it comes with 4 additional foams which you can trial and error, although I don't really hear much of a difference, but that's just me. Edit: Also nicer color options. Just personal preference. And I did find one "RD75" wording in Wave75 user's manual when I first unbox mine, I guess they somehow missed it.
I bought the Rainy 75 last year. While the on board storage for the dongle is definitely nice, there aren’t many new features to upgrade. I’m very happy with the Rainy 75. It’s irritating to have the power switch under the caps lock and not having storage for the dongle, but it’s still the best keyboard I’ve ever typed on
Gimme 1000Hz, N-Key Rollover and the Rainy75 is the deal. But for that price I can get other boards like the Bridge75 for a cheaper price. And they have those features. Sound superb as well. Have similar or better build quality. Rainy was cool for what it was. But theres a reason other boards beat it after all this 75 hype started. Theres a reason why the Bridge beat it for the title of the best board of 2024
This was the review I was looking for 3 months ago when I was in the market for a 75% pre-built and these were my two choices. As luck would have it, I ended up buying the Rainy 75 and I'm glad I did, especially now since I saw your view video. IMO nothing, and I mean nothing beats the feel and sound of the spacebar on the Rainy 75. It gives you feels!
6:56 - Actually, that specific color scheme and the pastel bright colors gives me a trance-like nostalgic sensation. I think it is gorgeous, somehow. Now I feel like testing out different keycap color combinations.😏🤩🙂
Womier keyboards are cheap and awesome. I got myself one and my wife took it and she loves it... It is different Womier, but if their $27 keyboard is that good...
great revew overall but you said that "aint no one got time for that" about bouth switching out the switches and the keycaps, well i think thats a bit harsh as the keyboard is targeted for self customizing and the whole RD aka Rapid Dissasembly! is basically for people to go in and customize the keyboad as they please. i got this keyboard for making a silent build where i switched out the switches to TTC frozen silent V2, thanks to the no case ping and deep sound resulting in the heavy case and stainless steel weight it is perfect for a silent build. some more points id like to point out: * about the shinethrough on your keycaps - i cant say for sure, but mine are solid and thick with no partial shine through, i think its just a fluke. but i will say there is some inconsistency in the legends. ( i found 2: the number 3 is thick for some reason and the " , " is also thick. thats it on that) * the scratchy feeling you heard from the switches is probably from the full POM as its known to have a "break in" period, after about a week it usually gose out. its a chice the probably made to keep the price low. (yeah its a bit annoying but you basically only feel it if you have a comparison right next to you. it does get better tho) * price!: the cheap out on the switches and keycaps are basically the only areas where you can see cutoffs. the rest is great! also talk about the PCB looking extra nice with the accent lines around the flex cuts *chefs kiss*<3.
You should try the Epomaker Galaxy70. It THOCKS a lot, has a knob, and costs around a hundred dollars
Got this as a gift. I swapped the switches for Wuque Morandi and got a nicer keycaps set. Now is perfect but yeah, out of the box is just not as good as it should be.
They are both under the same boss but different sub-company. They share the same factory and some member.
5:01 this weird scratchiness is something I felt with the Lofree Flow Lite's Specter switches as well. After asking around in the community and comparing switches with other similar designs, it seems to just kind of be a full-POM thing. Supposedly it should go away when the switches break in, though.
This keyboard is sold as “PMO” brand in China. If you turn “wob” upside down and change position, it becomes “pmo”
I got the RD75 from the kickstarter. I like it pretty well, but the power switch under the capslock is super annoying, especially cause it occasionally loses connection with the dongle and has to be restarted. My experience with the RD75 has made me feel strongly enough that I won't buy any other keyboard with the power switch under a keycap
Great work, I bought the Womier thinking it was better than the Rainy75 and you decribed all the flaws of the Womier perfectly. I guess the Womier RD75 price was a big draw for me at the time.
there is another same board that is released by wob umbrella company, PMO wave75
We know you love the Rainy 75, but have you tried the HE version? I'm stuck between that and the Wooting 80HE
