@BG_79

My recommendation for beginners:

- Sony A6500 (which has got image stabilization)

- one of the Sigma APS-C prime lenses (16/1.4, 30/1.4 or 56/1.4) for landscape, street-, food, or portrait photography

- the Sony 70-350/4.5-6.3 G OSS for wildlife

- the Sony 18-105/4 is a good allrounder for stills and videos in a lot of situations

Buy them second hand and you‘re well equiped for years.

And pay attention to the GAS (gear acquisition syndrome). If you think that a new lens provides better results, don‘t buy it straight away but try it out beforehand (renting, borrowing, etc.). Otherwise you‘ll end up with a bunch of lenses that you‘ll probably never use.

@telkirton

I had Nikon film and digital up to D3s for 50 years, sold it all after 2 heart attacks but now brought a 70D and 300mm f/4 lens highly recommenced, great video Mike..

@TheRealJHan

I bought a Canon T7i and very quickly upgraded to the RP. As much as I’d love to upgrade to an R6 or the like, the RP really is an amazing camera and everything a beginner needs and more to be set for years. Great video and love the honest review

@CO8848_2

You know which camera I really miss after spending over $16,000 on gear? My first DSLR, the Nikon d40. The only one that took pictures I always loved

The best and honest advice ever

@Maxschorrfoto

I bought a 700D August 2021. 2022 I upgraded to the RP. I am really happy with both choices. As you said the 700D in LowLight is not really great. In my experience everything above iso 400 maybe 800 is really noisy. The 50 1.8 is great. I am using it on the Rp with the adapter right now. Also loved it on the 700D. For Aspc canon cameras i would also recommend the 24mm f/2.8. Also das you said I got the feeling the 700d holt me back a bit really fast.

@isaaacsauce

i lit up when i saw the m50 in this video. definitely gonna go for that one, thanks!

For DSL-viewfinder photographers: two digit Canon DSLR have true prism (better), three-four digits prism-replacement with mirrors. Not important for LV style (but look for dual-pixel LV AF)

@macobean

get a used fujifilm xt2 for around $500 with 18-55m kit lens for $300, , best camera setup as beginner imo. quality both jpeg and raw are amazing and you got to learn manual shooting thru its manual dials.

@MacGamingg

Can you help me pick a camera between canon m50 mark 2, canon 250d, canon 2000d, this will be my first ever camera I want to get into photography I travel a lot so it’s for travel photos I’ve been looking for days now and can’t decide what’s good my budget is 500-750 I have been looking at compare websites and some have better specs than others which one will you recommend as you are a professional

@kevindelgado2982

My first camera is the 750D/T6i, even these days I see no need to upgrade it, it just takes amazing photos (in manual). but frankly one day I would like to try a full-frame camera, maybe when the 5DMrk IV gets more accessible in terms of price.

@stuartfranks1644

I use a lot of cameras but fuji and a 77d are my favourite i use the 77d for icm photography but i have about 30 different cameras but it's more the glass you put on it

@natetheartist9

Thanks for the work and advice you've shared in this setting.

@user-gu3ie

For me personally.. I would never put the m50 as a "beginner" camera. I've used both the m50 and the RP .. and I already sold the RD and kept the m50.. its light,build like a tank, and produces just as much quality as the RP if you use it wisely. The m50 will probably be my main forever... especially for street photography

@benigal5649

Thank you for the review. Great video bro.

@SergiVisualz

Bought the M50 few days ago. Best decision for the money.

@thomaslee1988

Nice tips. Thanks! (BTW, you mean "pull the trigger on..." Pull the plug means you stop something from going on.)

@jbli19

I started out photography with the Moment lenses to experiment if photography was something I enjoyed.

Ended up buying the Canon EOS 850D/T8i with the kit lens, 50mm 1.8, 24mm 2.8, 70-300mm.

After 3 months decided to upgrade to the Canon EOS RP and sold the previous one, and got a 24-70mm f2.8.

Now I use a Fujifilm X100V for street and landscape photography, whereas the Canon is only for portraits or a overkill webcam😅

@maurosegurah

Great video, tons of info. Thank you!

@chingymofo1

Owned the M50 for just over a year now and it’s a great camera for sure! I am selling it at the moment because I want a slight upgrade to the RP, a little better AF (or so I’ve seen) and better high iso/low light performance. But generally I could not complain about the M50 I’d absolutely recommend it and the term “all the gear and no idea” is very true because when I look at images I’ve taken 6 months ago and compare it to now it’s night and day. Skill will absolutely get you better images and the M50 is a great tool for learning the ropes!
