During our investigation into the non-veg pickle industry, we uncovered some unsettling practices. Firstly, we found that many businesses cut corners on hygiene. Inadequate sanitation can lead to the growth of harmful bacteria, posing serious health risks to consumers. Secondly, the source of the meat used in these pickles is often questionable. Some businesses may source from unreliable suppliers or even engage in unethical practices like using expired or low-quality meat. Thirdly, the use of excessive preservatives and artificial colors is rampant. These additives can have detrimental effects on human health in the long run. Finally, we discovered that many of these businesses lack proper labeling and fail to disclose crucial information like ingredients and expiry dates, making it difficult for consumers to make informed choices.
