If you have a lot of files that you want to take a quick look at without actually having to open them, then you can use the free QuickLook app to do so. This is similar to a feature that comes included with macOS. All you need to do is press the spacebar while on the file and it will open a preview of that file. You can then do things such as zoom in, scroll down the pages, adjust the volume of audio files, and even open the file in its default program or other application.
