The right formulation of topical finasteride can minimize systemic absorption and promote some hair-promoting effects. If you get the dose, dilution, and application frequency right, you may be able to reduce the likelihood of side effects while still gaining new hair.

According to some studies, the daily exposure volume of topical finasteride that has no impact on serum DHT levels is ~0.1 mg daily. This translates to 0.01% x 1 mL daily, or 0.005% x 2 mL daily.

Anecdotally, we've tracked serum DHT changes at this formulation. While many people see no changes to blood hormone levels, some people still report declines in serum DHT. So, individual data collection is still important if you're considering using low-dose topical finasteride.
