Fayetteville Firefighters battle 3 story apartment building fire (Weatherstone Dr)

9/17/23 Fayetteville, NC

At 10:42 am units from the Fayetteville Fire Department were dispatched to a reported apartment building fire. Upon arrival of the 1st unit, heavy fire was visible from the 3rd floor of the building and a working fire was declared, bringing additional units to assist. All units on scene are currently still actively engaged in fire suppression and citizens are asked to avoid the area if possible. Additional information will be released once the fire is under control.

Red Cross is on site assisting those displaced from the 12-unit apartment building.

Red Cross is helping a minimum of 16 people from 11 of the units. The 12th unit was vacant. This number could rise as the day progresses and the total numbers are tallied.

All occupants of the building have been sent to an offsite location for the Red Cross to meet with those displaced.
