Now here’s how to mute someone on Instagram app:

1. Open Instagram app on your phone and login to your Instagram profile.
2. Tap on the home icon at the bottom left.
3. Now go to “Direct messages” section.
4. Find the conversation with user you want to mute and click & hold on it.
5. From this menu select “Mute messages”.
