UPKRC Video Documentation Project 2023-05] Ms. Jeanette Garcia Kola

In this Ep. 5, meet the very passionate research assistant of UP KRC, Ms. Jeanette Garcia Kola who worked with UP KRC in the year 2019-2020!

Jeanette was a former exchange student at Kyungpook National University in Daegu. Afterwards, she finished her bachelor's degree in UPD Department of Political Science and then Master of Science in Politics and Data Science from the University College Dublin. She is currently working as a Senior Researcher and Lecturer at the Griffith College Dublin.

In 2023, UP KRC launched a Video Documentation Project which will trace back how young Filipino K-enthusiasts participated in UP KRC’s various activities and played a key role as a research assistant. UP KRC aims to encourage more Filipino scholars to be academically involved in Korea related matters and Philippines-Korea relations issues, and these former research assistants may have some insights to share what their journey had been like with UP KRC!

This is part of UP KRC’s core research project under the overarching theme “A Decade of Korean Studies in the Philippines: A Glance at the Past, A Gaze at the Present, A Glimpse of the Future” supported by the Korea Foundation (Ref. 2221100-1463).
